I have just a bit over 18k on mine right now.Did a check at 14k when a new belt, oil change,Primary drive service and tires. It was in spec then.I checked it right after getting the bike at 8.4k.It is about time to recheck it.

Help Finding a Diesel Engine....NON MOTORCYCLE RELATED

Grumman built a ton of bread trucks with 4 cly diesels. That would be the best place to find one.Don't hold me to it but a friend had a few some had turbo 400's as trannies and a few had 727's.Not sure why the different trannies but......If you found one with a turbo 400 then just a t-case swap...

    Commuting on XBs....

Short trips are no big deal for bikes if you do get out a few times a month and do some miles.I ride mine 10 miles to work weather permitting but get out on it every other weekend for some good miles.

Ever been pulled over for going through a light that won't change?

Here in Georgia a red light is treated as a stop sign. You have to look both ways for NO traffic and you can proceed with your turn.Little known law but it is there.

    man caves, toolboxes, and garages

My garage is not much of a "Man Cave" but it is where I do get away for a bit when not riding. Here is My tool box at the house. Some might find it crazy but a Snapon single bay roll around and a tool cart is ALL I need at work while I have 85% of my tools at home.

    Helmet Mohawks

OK now my words of wisdom.Do what ever you feel like you would look good riding around in......But don't feel bad when we all laugh and point.Yes I have to agree it is a squid move to me. If you want to look cool make a Hellraiser helmet like a buddy of mine did with epoxying spikes to it.

Nebody Ride with their DAD? since fathers day is close...

I never got a chance to ride with my Dad.He was never a rider even though he had a few bikes when in the Airforce. He passed in Jan 09 and have missed him every day since. So I can relate to you guys that have lost their Dads and Moms.I have a 13 year old son that rides with me.He has been riding...

Which would you choose? Ninja 1000 vs Daytona 675 vs Ducati 848

I personally suggest the Ducati of the three.I'm a Ducati fan and will always be one.Even though I love my Buell and will prob get another one.I will have another Ducati. The maintenance cost of the newer Duc's are much lees than the older ones.I would rather be on a Ducati Street Fighter or a...

For the military riders on here

I seen this thread and felt the need and duty to read it.My Father was in the Airforce during Korea and Vietnam. Officially never went but thats just the Official word. I never have served and now too old to do so.I do have many friends that do serve as long as many that have served.I look back...

anybody else ever have this problem?

I would not have that problem cause the key never leaves the bike when at home.I keep my bike in the garage so no need to remove it.Locking myself out the house is a different story.Mom lives just 4 miles from me so if needed I can just ride over and use her key to my house.

    Ducati 1098

Being a EX Ducati owner(not got to ride a 1098 yet).Ducati's are built for speed and handling. Not a bike that is known to be comfortable. My 748 seat was like sitting on a piece of plywood.

    Oil types

I personally run the HD Tri-syn.It will go in the engine and primary.Cost for me is 12.50 a quart with tax. It's just a buck more than most other synthetics.Worth the extra 4 bucks when doing the engine and primary.

Possible New Bueller In The Family, Need Suggestions PLEASE!

I would suggest a Blast or a Ninga 250.There is a good bit of difference between a quad and motorcycle. Both you can get pretty cheap and will be able to be resold once finished with them.I have rode a Blast and my wife has owned a 250.After riding both the 250 seemed easier to ride and get use...
