1190CR

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

Also I must give the biggest shout out to my awesome lady Eliza. Without her help and support I don't know where I'd be! Thanks again to everyone. .....I've got a whole lotta paying it forward to do!

First ride and she's a purring! Haven't opened it up yet....gonna give it a few miles first. Dyno first thing after the dragon!

Well the mountains rule! Took a lil 350ish mile loop down 28 to Seneca then up 130 to 218 and back to Robbinsville. I'm pretty sure I have the water pump 180° out of time as its got a good vibe below 5 grand. Otherwise she's simply a beast. Just leave it in 3rd or 4th and forget about shifting. I'm super curious to get her on a dyno, the midrange is just night and day difference.

The Barnett is definitely stiffer with the springs, doesn't really bother me nearly as much as I thought it would.....finding neutral while stopped is once again an exercise....Nothing I'm not used to. It really is criminal that Buell never built an 1190cr. I'm partial of course, but nothing out there has as good of a look!

+1 what mrlogix said!
I totally want a CR!
But after going through some rebuild issues myself, I have way too much vested in my XB to justify getting rid of it.
Unless you wanna trade?

Hey Wylie, keep an eye on the belt drive. Just curoius if this will be an issue or not. Belt should handle the torque okay in NORMAL riding. Belt drives don't like instantaneous torque loads (like pulling wheelies). So if you let your inner Buelligan out, check the belt for stretching or cracking every so often. :D

Belly pan is an x-o-skeleton I think, I bought it second hand from macbuell.

As to the belt.....I've been paranoid! I ordered a new one to have one hand 2 months ago and it's still on back order. she's on her third belt already and it's literally impossible to not loft it.....oh the woes! the ebr chain kit has been one the back burner for awhile due to financial limitations, not sure what to do now....I guess fabricate my own. The torque increase is definitely there, she'll leave beautiful darkies no matter how slow you go into a corner!

Got nailed by Tennessee's finest my first trip down the dragon about 9 corners in, nice one too....fml

On a side note, I really have to say I love the michelin road 4 tires. The pilot power just didn't hold up, wears weird and seemed twitchy. The road just sticks even in the rain and wet!

I haven't had a chance to dyno it so I don't really have anything new to add. I did get a lil video courtesy of John Hayes:

She held up amazingly well in the mountains and until I can pony up for a new rear michelin, she's sitting on stands in the garage. I am having an issue with it revving high at times in neutral. So far it only does it when it's hot.....

do you mean the idle creeps up or more like sticky throttle? Define hot please :D CT?
Not trying to agravate, just eager for feedback :D I want to do this soooo bad. :)

I mean when I start it cold everything is fine after it gets warm it decides to idle between 2 &3 grand. Everything is as it should be, throttle is fine, nothing is out of the ordinary, and it will go back to normal idle after awhile sometimes. I'm going to check the intake for a leak.....but that's such a pita. The race ecm from ebr is mapped out for a race exhaust system and she's got a holy hmf, I'm positive it's running very rich as I can smell the gas sometimes and hot starting is tricky as I have to roll on the throttle hard for it to kick. I'm guessing lack of air.
She's got several issues and weird sounds, but roll on hard around 5grand and everything else simply doesn't matter! I'll get back to her soon and will post up what happens. Thanks for the interst! I'd have never pulled this off without a ton of help from ebr and the buell community!
