My fuel pump on my 2004 XB12S is not making a strong sound like it once did. I have to flip the on off switch before it makes the stronger sound. When the fuel pump makes a week sound the bike wont start. Sometimes when it is running it cuts off.

Just the other day I had the ignition switch in the locked position with the key out and the headlight and tail light would come on at random!

I'm at a loss

You need to start looking in to the electrical system. Go over the wires coming from your fuse box, if you pull the tabs on the fuse box that connects it to the metal bracket it will pop off look for any worn insulation and also check the harness.

and you may have several problems.
If flipping the switch makes the fuel pump work better, then either disassemble and clean the switch or get a new one.
The Ign locked and still getting power intermittently is a crazy one that I've never heard of, but considering thats the only link in the system, swap that too.
I'm not a fan of replacing stuff before diagnosis, but the way you describe it, that's what I'd do.

Do you live near the beach?? Corrosion much??

I don't live near the beach & the bike had been garaged all its life. The only times it has gotten wet other than washing is when I was riding and got caught in the rain.

One other issue is the header pipe when it's dark out side where it comes off the jug gets red hot at idle. Also the bike will randomly cut off at idle

Pull off your seat and check the top of the ECM. There has been a few buell that I have come across that the seat pan has come in contact with harness and a few wires ground out.

Also, there are a bunch of things that can made your headers glow, did you change your pipe? If not remove your air box. Then turn on your bike and see if the exhaust valve switch moves.
Then do a tps reset then go from there.
