No. O2 signal doesnt come into effect until it gets a little warmed up.

I think you need to get a compression check done. Been said from the begining but havent heard an answer on that.

Heres a thought, i dont know if possible not have a tried, the crank shaft cam drive gear, could that have been taken off and reinstalled in the wrong spot? Hence making the cam marks wrong. I doubt this is the case, considering it hasnt banged valves or anything

The shop I used to work for installed a set of aftermarket lifters using the stock pushrods. The bike failed to start. Come to find out the lifters were longer than stock so required adjustable pushrods.

OMG "twobuells" that's something I have not thought of. Makes perfect sense though! I'll check with the manufacturer and find out if in need adjustable rods. Thanks. As fast as the compression test goes... haven't had a chance yet. I'll go pick up one this week and get it done.

Makes perfect sense though!
Not really. The XB uses hydraulic lifters therefore requiring no adjustment. Assuming the aftermarket lifters installed are hydraulic, i dont see that being the issue. Not that the hydraulic lifters coyldnt cause such a thing, they would have to be a good amount longer and should have been noticed when installed.

A compression check would clarify if the lifters being too big causing your issue.

The lifters installed are from fuelling (HP)

ok, I'll get it done this week and follow up. Thanks

I had this problem when I installed cams is my xb12s.. I was 180 degrees out.. redo your can installation and go from there..

So I checked into the lifters just to be sure... The HP+ series from fueling is a stock replacement and does not need any adjustable rods. I guess that rules that one out.

Below is a video link showing the start up.

that is a serious problem. like badtitan said, get back in and check your cam timing. the popping is from ignition at the wrong time.

ok after looking in the manual, and comparing your pics, your cam timing is correct.

i cant see how it could end up 180* off. you simply cant, unless that crank drive sprocket was off, and its keyed so i doubt that.

now im stumped.

Exactly... Stumped me too. That's why I found a glimmer of hope that maybe lifters were a bit longer/shorter than stock. That doesn't seem to be the case though. I'm leaning towards an electrical problem, but I'm not sure where yet. Especially since everything checked out with the dealership.

got the file.

it makes no sense what so ever. i see you saved it as a text file? you save it using ecmspy or tunerpro?

either way, usidng both programs to read it, its completely random out of wack. i suspect its how the file was saved and sent.

using tunerpro have your adx and xdf files setup. connect to the motorcycle, download the eeprom. save the file as a .bin file and re send.

koop here is what you sent me the second time, just as bad as the first time.

what i noticed is you sent me the diagnostic ADX file. you can NOT use that ADX file to download or up load an eeprom to a computer. (as far as i am aware)

im emailing you the proper ADX as well as a stock, for sure 100% stock no tune .bin file you can use to upload to the bike

Sorry about that koop. I fucked up on the firmware. Not sure whats going on after getting the right firmware maps looks great nothing stands out as bad.

Though you have an 08 bike. Your firmware is for 09-10. Anyone know why an 09-10 ECM wouldnt work with an 08?

you pulled the firmware from the ecm? how did you read it? neither tunerpro nor ecmspy can do so.

who pulled the firmware? how large is it? why do you look at firmware and not eeprom data?

The bike is an 08, but the .bin file is dated December 2008. This must have been one of the last few before the model year change over...
