Just returned from my road trip! Had an incredible time! We ended up traveling 1447mi in 3 days passing through 6 states (Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama). The Firebolt proved itself to be a decent little touring bike with the exception being the murderous stock seat! It was flawlessly reliable, got between 55-63mpg, and was absolutely AMAZING on the twisty Smokey Mountain roads; the seat however, had the backs of my legs raw and screaming for mercy by the time we got home. Overall we had a GREAT time. CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!
Pics to follow.....
all packed up and ready to go

Tiny little cabin for the first night. There were 3 beds so no, I didn't bunk up with a dude. Can't say enough good things about Hunt's Lodge. They have thought of every conceivable want or need a biker would ask for in a campground.

Man I love Tennessee

Slaying the dragon, well not really. I took it easy because i knew I had another 800+mi. to go. Still had fun though

more to come......

That's awesome man! Defiantly a rep point for that. And I know exactly what you mean about the seat. I did a 550 mile run down California and that alone my backside was begging for a rest. Let's see the rest of those pictures![up]

The entrance to heaven on Earth, Barber vintage Motorsports Museum.

Some bikes I found drool worthy or especially intriguing:

The Black Shadow, a chorus or angels sang and a beam of heavenly light shone on this one as I drooled obsessively:

This place truly is unbelievable. An ABSOLUTE "must see" for any motorcycle enthusiast. Beautiful grounds, amazing museum and the most overwhelmingly incredible collection of vintage, rare and flat out awesome bikes I have ever experienced.

That museum is amazing so much history there, I spent 3 hours there and didn't get to look at everything. I can't wait to go back.

Nice pics and sounds like a great trip. I did about half as many miles on my stock bolt seat and was fine but if I were to do it again I would get the Baldwin gel insert to replace the stock foam. It's like $85 shipped back.
