So clearly you understand why the mods lock threads cause that thread was a full of immature remarks. Sorry to call you out but I consider you part of "The Fam" and hopefully you dont take total offense.

hmm, seems like Ron Paul supporters have drank the same kool aid as Baa-RockSt@r Obummers hope & change peeps did in '08

just because during a campaign a fellow sez some things that sound great you have to follow the money folks, see that most of RP contributions come from defence contractors and the like, you know the same folks that make all the nifty things to wage war on innocent people in far away lands all in the name of democracy and freedom...

but what the hey, at least someones making the cheddar right, who cares if innocent people are getting slaughtered in drone attacks in various countries around the world (the same drones that do fly over your and my country right now, how long til they are armed to protect us from those pesky terra-ists?)...

meanwhile the US military is in the news every other week due to some dumb ass atrocities committed by stressed out, war drunk young men who are in countries where they are not wanted nor do they belong!

(even the puppet Ron Paul is in favour of moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jeruselum, not that that would piss anyone off, but its ok...its Israel)

Just my opinion:

- Mods should only Lock a thread after gathering a consensus from a few other Mods OR at the request of the Thread Author. It causes such a disruption, as we've seen, that it needs to be carefully considered with other mods who have no "dog in the fight" and can provide indifferent input. Most times, Locking the thread causes a greater disruption than if it had went Unlocked.

I've been a Mod here since April '09 and have not Locked enough threads to number further than one hand; with the majority of those at the Thread Authors' request and NEVER without first contacting them. They created it, they should have a say in it. Besides, there's nothing wrong with some disputes/arguments from time-to-time; it keeps the life-blood of the Forum pumping.

One thing I'm sensing is, If this Forum continues in a direction reflective of the past month or so - we WILL lose members and we WILL begin to reflect the very practices/behavior that cause so many to stray away from the "oppression" of Badweb.

On a side note, I think any Mod should always make a valiant attempt take the higher road. Just my feeling on the subject...

I read your whole post there, interesting view. I agree with much of what you said, however I also support Ron Paul. I agree that (most) politicians including our presidents are in the pockets of corporations (Including banks, foreign influences, and of course the military industrial complex).

So to keep this little conversation going let me ask you this, what do you suggest Americans do? If we don't vote for Ron Paul, who do we vote for? I agree with almost everything Mr. Paul says, reducing govt involvement in our lives, military, getting our nation out of debt, the list goes on - of course there's the possibility that if he were elected he would be just like any other president we have had in the last 20 years and simply do what he's told, but isn't there that small chance that maybe he could do even a little bit of what hes promised and not be in the pockets of corporations? It seems that miniscule chance is all we have now. Why not vote for him and see what happens? Do you have other candidates you agree with more? Judging from your last post, I highly doubt there is.

Honestly if we cant believe that a representative like Ron Paul can help us, what do we have left short of violent revolution?

I think your missing my point. My point is Romney at this point I KNOW is as bad as Obama(as far as being in the pockets of third party interests).

Ron Paul on the other hand, I genuinely believe there's a possibility hes legitimate.

I dont give a fuck who is in office if it's Obama vs Romney, they are both puppets as far as i'm concerned.
