Hello all Buellers, I'm kinda new in this forum and I'm hearing impaired, one day I was riding in downtown, there's traffic at stop light, I decided to go between cars, one of pickup driver saw me coming, I could see his face on his rear view mirror, he steered his truck closer to next car by side, too narrow for me to pass, got pissed off, I can see a guys face in mirror smiling, so I backed down and quickly went other side of his truck and zoom like heck, he got pissed and gave me a finger, I waved him like Queen Elizabeth waving, ha He is still stuck in traffic and I'm long gone... I haven't touched their cars yet, (knock on wood), anyone share experience?

Typical in Los angeles where traffic is brutal. My license plate says, "timesvr". Adds insult to them when, even though they close the gap, you end up going around them anyways. Poor four wheelers....

You know, that's why most gloves have hard knuckles on them right.... PERFECT FOR MIRRORS!!!

JBV where in LA are you at. I'll be relocating to East LA middle of this month.

Dealing with jackasses are just a part of life. Unfortunately its not against the law to be a idiot and own a car so we have to deal with them on the road. Best thing to do is not get pissed because riding mad will only make a bad situation worse. I had a buddy get run off the road on his Harley when a cage changed lanes with out looking. He got pissed tried to get next to the car to give the driver some driving tips and almost ran into the back of a stopped car.

I try to avoid lunatics.

But I have a friend that doesn't mind them. I saw him rip someones mirror completely off because they tried to block him in. The guy was so pissed but when we pulled over he kept driving.

People are real tough when they have four wheels and you have two. Get both of you on two feet and they tend to sing a different tune.

Lane splitting is not legal here in Az, but I do run up the right side while the cages are stopped at an intersection, and make the right turn.
I have also ran down the shoulders during gridlock on the Freeway, or used the on/off-ramp lane to pass.

The Cagers will always be mad, and inconsiderate. I have had a car pass me on the right shoulder, while all the lanes to left of where open. You just have to pay attention, watch out for YOURSELF FIRST, then the rest of the zombies.

I lane split every day, and I've had my share of close calls. I've never got violent with a stupid cager, even thought I wanted to. I have given mirrors a hard tap before. I pet a dog the other day as I went by. I won't hesitate to give the finger to an idiot driver, and I'm over dramatic about honking and swerving just so they'll think that they almost took a motorcyclist. Letting them realize alone that they suck at driving is payback enough.

i so wish it where legal here it sucks burn you cluth and left hand in stop and goes.
but i gotten to speeding tickets alreadry this year.
last thing i need is more points[mad]

I wont split since CA is the only legal state to split and I live in MI, but if traffic is at a stop I will ride the shoulder since our bikes are air cooled.

Thats true, dont give them the finger when riding alone, I dont trust any 4 wheelers drivers, best to stay focus and be safe. lane spiltting is time saver but dangerous, some 4 wheelers threw cigarette butt out of driver's window, opened door to pour out the coffee, some even spit tabacco, quick lane changes, even one driver squirt water from bottled water, and one more thing, beware of vomit in morning,....

I'm also in Southern CA, and I've had a lady do the exact samething one day while I was riding up the coast near Malibu.

As you guys know, there are only 2 lanes on that road and did I mention small? Whoa!

But I finally was able to get around here in bumper to bumber traffic, and when I did, she got mad, so I pulled up next to her window and she me all types of mean names, in which I ride like night rider(can't see my face, skin, nothing) in addition to having my ipod on, so all I were able to see is frustration and her mouth just moving.

So she then tried to side swipe me, so I kicked her passenger door and sped off, truly an asshole.

Lane splitting is illegal here in Indy but I carry two things to help protect myself besides the gear. First being a pocket full of decent sized ball bearings, and the second is my Ruger SP100. Don't get much flack from cagers after you pass and all they have to look at is your back and paddle holster.

Was in in traffic one day at a traffic light waiting to turn across a double lane, as the light change i wait to be certain all stopped before crossing. So i feel this bump look around and see the driver smurking at me. He decided to nuge me to move forward i was taking to long for his liking. Could not beleve it.

He then pulled up next to me and starts shouting.I just pulled back and hit his mirror right off unfortunately also hit mine off.

Now i`m carrying a small can of pepper spray will use that in future (velcro it to my bars).

I don`t want to get to involved with stupid people. It is some times just easier to drive past and forget, that is why i got the bike in the first place.

I also lane split all the time it is leagle in South Africa and must say if the cagers see me they are very curtious. But also had the cigarette bud story on Friday night shook my head and went past.
