Long shot in the dark but I was wondering if anyone is interested in garden tractor pulling.. I work for a shot that specializes in this.. we built pullers and racers.. mostly v twin engines. And some single cylinders as well.. the company is Zach Kerber machine and design.. if you are into garden tractor pulling you had better know this name.. we have been the best at what we do for a long time.. I mainly am a fabricator.. I do all the grinding of the camshafts and some mill and lathe work.. Just trying to see how far this garden tractor pulling thing gets.. I see the names and addresses on the outgoing packages and they go everywhere throughout the US... maybe someone on her is into it as well..

This is an example of what we do.. this is racer we built last year.. started with a one off frame and 25hp v twin mower engine.. rebuilt the engine with custom crank, connecting rods, pistons, and camshaft. All done by us in-house.. the heads are also done by us and it uses NASCAR lifters and valves.. we machine the ports to about twice the size. In this tractor we ran a 30mm flatside mikuni carb to each cylinder. It ran on a methanol and alcohol blend.. end product 123hp and 81ftlbs.. this is our highest numbers yet.. kinda playing with some turbo ideas. We run turbos on the diesels so why not on the twins.. this had a clutch on it like you would see on a go cart which we Aldo made inhouse.. the higher the rev the more the clutch would grab.. this engine would spin to about 12k and it is one hell of a racket.. competes with my 1125cr with the keda rt3.. fun stuff

I've been around the big tractor pulls but never seen these smaller ones before, pretty sweet though!

The picture above is a racer.. This is an example of what the pullers look like.. just like the big one just smaller... this is an old one of ours..

Its amazing what you can make these little engines do. We raced Jr.Dragsters when up till last year the fastest we were allowed to go was 7.9 seconds in the 1/8th mile but we were carrying around 70lbs of dead weight to slow the thing down. Of course the engine is along way from where it began based on a briggs straton single cylinder. Ours was setup to idle at 6200rpms running alcohol.

im not into it but enjoy watching at the fairs. The girl i work with, her step dad is really into them and has I think 6 at this time. He has a full shop in his basement where he builds them. His 2 kids also pull along with his father.

I don't do it, but I have been looking into upgrades for the k341 I am rebuilding in my Cub Cadet. One thing that is holding me back from putting the motor together is I either need a new lifter or have my bad one resurfaced. At some point it stopped rotating and has a worn spot where the cam rode. I know there are a few guys out there that deal in Kohler parts, I just keep forgetting to order one or two.

Both my Cubs are hydro, so they won't work well for pulling.

that racer looks awesome but there isnt much garden tractor left. It looks like a small custom built race car.

This is what my relatives do.
None of the small ones, but they have a few of these rigs that are very impressive.

[up] Red-neck engineering at its finest. I love it.

I'd love to hear a 125 HP Briggs-Stratton v-twin. Lol.

These are Kohler.. Havant done much with the Briggs.... give Zach Kerber machine a call and see what he can do for you.

I have heard they do some racing around here, So. Alabama, didn't even know about the pulls though, sounds like a lot of fun
