Brembo brake mod

can anyone tell me the advantages or downfalls of using a master that has a top mounted line as opposed to a side mounted line??

D_ROK - the advantage is when you go to bleed the system. Nothing more. It's just easier with the top mount.

My machine shop shipped me 5 brackets and I have them in hand now. They still owe me 15 more and I should have those next week.

I have sent PM's to the first 5 folks who asked for one. As i get more I will let people know.

PM so I know you are interested - They are still $55 shipped (within US) and come with mounting bolts.

Thanks - EVLXB

I procured one of EVLXB's bracket's second-hand from somebody who never got around to doing the project and can vouch for quality, been rocking mine for almost a year now and not had a single problem. thanks again!

I only have 5 at this moment and all are spoken for (but no paid for yet). I have another 15 coming in next week. Shoot me a PM and I can let you know when I get one for you.

Thanks again EVLXB for the bracket, very well made.

I'm looking for the best way to bleed these damn brakes. I've done, the put fluid in the top pump the brakes... didn't work so great.

I've done, injecting the fluid from the bottom...twice. It'll slow the bike but wouldn't trust it to help me stop.

What am I doing wrong?

I just got done bleeding my brembo as well. I let it sit all day and then rebleed and it worked. Sometimes little bubbles get caught and all you can do is let it sit and they will go to the highest point.

Warlock is right... if you don't have a vacuum it is difficult to get all the air out. Let it sit overnight and see how it feels. Yo should be able to lock-up the bracke if you need to.

Try taking the caliper off the bike, put a piece of plywood thats similar in thickness to the rotor in the pads. Now hold the caliper directly above the master while bleeding it. All the bubbles should come up. Take the whole rear brake system off if nessasary to acomplish this. I have been doing bike calipers this way for years. I have a MityVac vacum bleeder and this method still works better. On my cars I use a pressure booster that pushes fluid thru. I can change all the brake fluid in my Mazda including the clutch in an hour.
Unfortunately I havn't found a similar product for bikes.[sad]

Thanks Warlock and Ronin1, I was thinking the same thing about taking it all off and starting fresh. It's too damn hot and humid to ride anyway.
