Just an idea here...........How about fabbing the bracket with a hook that would go over the frame next to the air box base. It would require trimming the lower box in that area, but would provide your setup the ability to hook around the frame and prevent movment of the new mounting bracket.

It wont swing back at all. I even lifted the bike by hand with a friend from the subframe and the bike was in the air and shock did not move. No need to make any more modifications to this cause it works perfect and doesnt move.

is it locked in some how when only finger tight? loosen the bolt/s and try the lift. i suspect that it wont move when everything is tight... but if the bolt/s loosen then the way it looks, it would seem that the suspension can drop and the bracket flip backwards, and that is what i think xtreme and others are refering too.

sure the bolts are tight and will probably be tight always, but i think that its better to cover every situation rather than best case scenario.

what did you do with the front anyway? its not just riding 2 inchs lower in the rear... is it??

I tried loosen and tight. The brackets are long enough that it wont come forward. Its perfectly secured without a doubt.... Next question.... Now I will be lowering the front this weekend and I know Im gonna need a shorter kickstand at least an inch shorter. Any suggestions on that?

cut and shut... thats what my mate did to his. took a measure and simply cut a piece out.

Bike looks nice. I would try to find an SCG or SL kickstand or you could chop the current one down an inch and weld the foot back on. Not sure if I would go that route but since you like to fabricate...:)

DO IT!!! Nice work btw. I think I am going give a go at it. You should do a step by step D.I.Y. and it should be a sticky for sure. Lots of guys like to lower there bikes.

Also nice detail on the tires.

mail-your bike looks great. nice job on the brackets. Maybe I missed it in the thread.. did you do before/after measurements? If so what was the overall amount achieved?

Rear shock was moved 2.5 inches up from original position. Brackets are 3 inches long. Just got my firebolt front bracket. Waiting for my front fairing to arrive. Thanks Bossanova and I cant wait til its finished also

Nice bike! Clean, subtle cosmetic enhancements without a lot of visual drama going on. Just how I like 'em.

Question- What kind of chain tensioner are you using? I've got a chain kit that uses a slotted stock pulley bracket for chain adjustment, but am interested is something different.

Tork- thanks. The tensioner was bought the the complete kit. There's a business here who has started selling this kit. Talk to the owner at fat300customcycles.com I'm sure he can get u the tensioner separate. Lmk if u want the number instead.

Your color scheme looks great!

Guess I was wrong about the bracket moving under no load.

No problem sirius815 n thanks. Once I put the front firebolt upper fairing, I will be taking of the stripe lines of the tank fenders n rear cowl. But I was thinking about painting the frame candy Orange n keep the stripe lines on the rims. Not sure what to do with the SWINGARM but it will eventually be painted black gloss or candy orange. I'm also sending both air scoops to get painted gloss black.

Thanks for the link. I shot him an email. His number is listed at his website, so I've got that as well.

I just cut a stand and welded the bottom back on. Very simple just make sure you don't weld the lower leg on crooked;)

You can see the weld line on the stand, here
