The tire is way big. I guess if your into it's cool. Previous pictures were really nice. I was impressed with the look of the bike.[cool]

Mailtoome, did you ever print out the specs to your lowering kit, i.e. the precise dimensions, etc. would like to do this on my new to me XB12S

I really hope you find a better way dude. I'm a fabricator & this idea is not gonna fly unless you take your time and do not get emotionally invested in a specific design. In other words, treat failures as a teacher and test it repeatedly before riding.

mailtoome that rear wheel is not factory is it? and are those the translucent amber wheels cuz they look a little more orange-y

What does it cost to get a stock rim widened? Hope this is not seen as a thread jack, as along the theme of lowering, I have installed a new Scg rear shock and slipped the forks on my Firebolt, and am running a 200 rear tire.

SO on the cutting of the frame you just cut the smaller area out on the left side correct? no trimming on the left side?

bood92... why would you try this! all you need to do is simply bolt on an scg rear shock. that is all i did to lower mine back to correct height after fitting the 18 x8 rear rim. job done in about 10mins. no ifs buts or whatifs.

Great job, love how you just pushed aside the nay sayers. I recently got a Buell for my GF, she is 5 ft and 100 pounds. I build and ride bobbers, this is my first dive into the sport bike modding pool and have found it sucks. Most people refuse to go outside what the factory is handing them, even at shops I'm told it's impossible.
Everyone here talks up the scg spring but they are hard to find and kinda pricey because of it.
Chop and ride.
