buell factory right side scoop

I ask because the ECM upgrade is planned for this summer, but been hesitant to do the scoop upgrade too just because it further obscures that iconic engine, which is already nearly invisible, especially on my blacked-out '09.

That's a very interesting POV. I think most people would rather hide that engine in this sport bike lol.

you could compromise and go with the "mini" scoop which came on I believe the 2010 xb's, or maybe it was the 09's. I put it on my bike, it was only like $18 or something from HD.

Just ordered my right sided scoop from Chicago HD in Glenview. $61 before taxes but a big shout out goes to Brian in parts. I was in my uniform and the ambulance was outside (we had some down time). Brian gave me 10% off my bill for being a first responder. Plus on top of that I had 2 $10 gift cards that he let me use. My total out the door was $41 with tax. Can't wait to get the scoop and toss it on.

Just ordered mine from new castle harley, cheapest I found, think it was like $44 before shipping. Can't wait till warm weather to try it out.

bought mine a few years ago from chicago HD, less than 50 bucks shipped to SoCal, nice to see the price hasn't doubled or triple on those parts...buy most of my parts from newcastlehd.com, best prices online for almost everything

It's 2014, Can we still get our hands on those parts m0851 and 851.7aa? (I've sent request to my local hd, but they haven't returned anything)I will post with what i can find out...There are carbon fiber units available, But can;t get any cheap answers...! lol

Just ordered from Surdyke. $27 for the outer scoop and $22 and change for the inner. Had a $5 gift card which almost payed for shipping. Can't wait..

M0851.7AA (outer scoop)
M0852.7AA (mounting bracket)

Just installed mine from Surdyke; $51 delivered. They have to order the parts from a warehouse which takes a few days. In the Southeast US, summer days are mid-80s to mid-90s on any given day. Fan seems to take longer to come on when at an extended standstill (traffic light, e.g.), but still comes on briefly after shutdown. Guessing the ECM needs to adapt-learn to the lower temps at the rear cylinder.

I just bought the stock kit from roanoke Harley Davidson for $63. Www.bestemusa.com has carbon fiber right and left side scoops. $165 for the pair. Best deal on carbon fiber. I didn't won't to spend the extra $100.

[up] stock isn't bad, wish Buell at the time had put more thought into the design, at least look closer to the left, more than likely HD didn't want to spend $$$ to do it right.

Just ordered mine from the local Harley dealer. Numbers worked flawlessly. $60 and I have a RSS. Thanks for the info guys.

Hi guys, From Australia here and would love to get hold of a large right side scoop for my XB12.

I don't suppose any of you guys would be so kind as to order one of the right side sccops for me and send to Australia?

I am prepared to pay additional on top of cost of parts and postage.

The surdyke dealer and a couple of others will not post to Australia.

As far as finding a dealer here in OZ, they are useless and expensive.

Please message me if you are interested in helping me out.

Thanks guys
