Back in town and ben doing some work. Keep posting progress pics guys .. I like seeing old things get restored.

Changed the sprocket, received clutch and throttle cables, grips, ordered headlight, brackets, clip-ons, intake boots, fork dust boots, still need rear tire, digital speedo, chain seat, and diaphragms. Which are ****** expensive!

So a little update. Headlight came in today. Need to trim the brackets and find different washers

Little update on mine.. The guy i have working on it said that rings were worn and needed replaced.. It was showing just over 100lbs of compression which it should be anywhere from 144 to 178.. so i just got off the phone with him and the good news is that it doesnt need rings now.. the headgasket is fine which i thought was leaking.. the bad the valves were sticking which he said he can take care of that and he will have to set the valves and valve clearance... and the valve cover gasket is still bad... so its gonna be alot cheaper that we thought.. should have it back by the end of the week... or middle of the week latest... cant wait..

OK so I'm trying to figure out the wiring on my KZ and it's a nightmare. The blinkers have power to them but aren't blinking. Got a new flasher from O'Riellys but still the same. Thoughts?

Have you checked the bulbs? what kind of kz? I have a kz650 77 and i wont use my turn signals that came with it and they do work.

Sorry let me be more clear. It's a 80 kz440 and I actually don't have blinkers. There's power coming to the flasher no problem. Old flasher I put a tester to it and tester burn bright but doesn't blink. Put a new flasher and same thing but tester is burning much dimmer.


Gonna try a new flasher. Maybe this one is defect

Scrapped the idea of trying to make the stock carbs work and went with a single. Got meself a 39mm Mikuni, fabbed up a 'Y', and mocked it up. Nice and clean.

How it sits now. KZ650 front end upgrade (for the disc brakes and beefier look) waiting on some bigger clip ons.
