are the cooling systems on these bikes ok to run glycol.. i understand antifreeze is glycol.. reason im asking is i work in plastic factory and the machine i run day to day runs glycol through the molds to cool them.. this seems to work well and actually dropped the mold temp from 250s to 190s. used regular water before.. the glycol would be free to me thats why im asking.. i have read that the engine ice is 98% glycol and 2% conditioning agents for the cooling system and lines.. im not sure which glycol we use as there are 2 common kinds but the molds are aluminum with copper cores so i would guess it would be ok to use in the bike being that our radiators are aluminum.. any help or guidance would be great thanks

Says in the service manual "if you find yourself in a location where genuine HD extended life antifreeze & coolant is not available, you may use 50-50 mixture of de-ionized water and ethylene glycol based antifreeze".

sounds good to me.. this is industrial glycol.. i seen the order come in on it when we got it and i did the math it i think it was like $203 a gallon.. not sure why they paid that much but they did

Make sure it's the right stuff (read the specs) , you don't want to cook your engine trying to save a few $.

Coolant has quite a bit more in it than just glycol. If you run just glycol and water you WILL destroy your engine and cooling system.

I hope not.. it does feel a lot different than regular antifreeze.. it feels really slippery and stcky when drys.. I'm still researching it

I have always used 'Evans Waterless Coolant' and never had a problem at all. I ride when its REAL hot in Texas-110 dgrees or more and run the bike temps over 230 degrees constantly with no trouble.... This Evans coolant has a boiling temp of over 375 degrees.

spend a $1 to save a 5c
just use automotive grade antifreeze that is available from the auto parts stores, it will be cheaper
