MAN! You are lucky! count your blessings! Wishing you the best. Maybe there needs to be a patch for riders on this site who survive these things? A pegasus with wings and date and a F.U. Finger?
I too survived a really BAD crash in August, still in recovery and will be a LONG road. If you dont already have one, find a good lawyer, I used my local AIM lawyer rep (aid to Injured motorcyclists) and i interviewed a number of other attorneys but went with my local guy as he has 25 years repping bikers. I also asked some very knowledgable people, all got the same answer.
Be careful who you talk to, and what you say, Both insurance companys will want a recorded statement right away,
get a GOOD lawyer ASAP. a good one will take care of things for you and represent YOUR interests,
IF the other driver is UNDERINSURED your insurer might also be on the hook, get a good lawyer to walk you thru this,. was the other driver drunk? If so,, get MADD involved, the person who hit me was drunk and MADD have been great in getting me justice, The law was going to give her a slap on the hand until MADD got involved.
get well, but dont rush anything, it will be a year long journey,

Glad to hear you are ok. Maybe your wife should meet mine,her comment when I totaled my Lightning in August was "your crashes are getting worse, you are getting hurt less, I'am ok with that" I guess thats why I keep her around, not sure why she keeps me around though.

horrible thing about the bike but more importantly you are still alive.. glad those firemen happened along.. would be horrible to survive a crash like that only to die from inhaling too much vapor.. ATG/ ATT. good thing you were wearing yours.. get well soon and heal up all the way before fighting the lady for another toy!
