Thought I'd share this vid w/ you guys, Dave (moderator) suggested to post this on a new thread to make it easier to find. Anyways, here it is, my first attempt in a DIY vid. Hope it's not a fail but hey, the mod's simple & free lol! Btw, I give thanks & credit to Speedkills & GatorBuell for the original post.

I did this mod a few weeks ago. Great video tho! I'm sure this will be very helpful [up]

This is the video I wish I would have seen when I tried it. Good job! [up] I messed up at step 3 and couldn't remove the pins. I was left with enlarged inner connections that would sometimes blink my lights on and off depending on the bumps in the road. I had to have the white connector replaced.

I wonder about doing this this. What happens at night, the highbeam is just on? Or do you not ride at night? I don't generally ride much at night so maybe it doesn't matter. I'd prefer a light that had both lights on and a high beam option.

Thanks guys.
@ unionthug: night or day you could just use the highbeam anyway if you've noticed, the light output of the stock highbeam is not much different from the low. It's just a matter of how much light/visibility you'd like to use, it just gives you that second option of having both lights on.

The single most important key to this is the upward movement on the casing to release the wire. I tried this a couple times and stopped as I was concerned about having to force the wires out and cracking the connector.

After the vid, it took longer to take the fly screen off and on than the mod itself.

Great video! [up]

I did this and now my high beam pulsates almost on an off. Sometimes it will stop and stay illuminated and other times it will flash like crazy. Did I mess something up?

Great to see a video for this either way!

Sounds like maybe the connection is bad? Did you have trouble removing the wire? Those connectors are extremely easy to damage.

Try switching them back to factory settings and see if the problem still exists.

yes. a bad connection, probably the teal wire. if you're like me mush and just got pissed off at not being able to remove the pins from the connector correctly, try this. easy to do and works nicely.

Yeah, removing the pins were a struggle since Iwasnt sure exactly where to press to release them. I'll check my connections.

first Ive seen with your method lunatic. I may try that if I have no success after i check mine.

this helps too

Um, that sucked. I ripped one wire out, I'm bleeding and I've redone as much as I undid. But hey, now that all is corrected, the lights are symmetrical! Thanks for the tips, especially Kona w/ the animated what-not, wow.
