Evidently I have the urge to piss more money away and I'm intrigued by the dual visor ff helmets. I hate wearing sunglasses and since I ride at night, a tinted visor isn't an option. Opinions?

I'm really baked, it took me like 5 mins to write this, my fingers are not currently connected to my hands

^^ x2. Its why i bought my dual visor. Unfortunatly though Scorpion does not offer a clean INNER shield. So i settle for blue on the inside for night riding, and ruby/mirror on the outside. BTW The blue sucks for night riding..I just squint and leave them both up. mby i'll try amber sometime later.

This what I got. It's the bomb.com
You can love it hate it I don't care.

Dual visor is the way to go. Sunglasses in a helmet suck.

Thx guys. For some reason I'm hesitant about modulars and prefer a solid full face.

Phx - I did see yours on the other helmet thread, I like the EXO's pretty well. Any issues? Noise?

Netty - Those Bell shields are damn cool. Wonder if Shoei will follow suit?

No issues, noise I couldn't say its the same as any helmet I've had. So I don't think its bad. Visor works without flaw. Good air flow too.

+1 for Bell and the SolFX shield. It is the best helmet setup i have ever had.

Love mine. I never would have bought it but the guy gave it to me when I bought the bike. It sat in my brother's garage for over a year then one day I decided to wear it(didn't even know it had the double visor). After accidentally flipping the tinted "glasses" down while riding my old helmet took it's place on the shelf.

Beware of the duel visors, having a cavity in the helmet for the second visor adversely affects its safety. Essentially why Arai helmets will never have one. Plus the mechanisms for it are heavy and in my experience they fog rather easily. The bell transitions is ok, but it is really slow.
I will say I am somewhat biased, I work for Alphamicron, the makers of e-tint. However, I do believe our product has some advantages over whats out there.

With the bell solfx....is that a partucular helmet with that shield, or does it fit several style bell helmets??

Gotta admit that's pretty Fin sweet. wonder if I can get one for my old helmet. Didn't know the second visor effected safety...

I find the drop down visor on my EXO-1000 kind of annoying. It was cool when I bought it, but it doesn't come down far enough and has the nose cut out which isn't necessary unless you are Pinocchio. I usually opt for sunglasses. The reviews of the 3 new Shark models look promising, their drop down is supposed to cover the entire field of vision.

All helmets adhere to a certain standard, so just because one has a second visor in it, or a cut out on the side for a Bluetooth module, it still has to perform to a certain standard. Adding features can't take away from safety. Also, the mechanisms added for the second visor do not add any weight as everything that was added is plastic.

They still have to pass D.O.T. testing and or E.C.E. testing so safety isn't an issue. Size, fit and finish and noise are the issues. I have two dual visor helmets and they are great but more noisy than my others.

I also have the hjc is-16. I love it. The shades are great, especially at times where the sun's right in your eyes and you need extra tinting along with your tinted shield. Also cool that if you need your clear visor for possible night riding later that day, then you have you shades built in, nothing to forget and you don't need to pull over to put it on. It doesn't work well as eye protection with the visor up tho, as the wind goes right underneath it since the shades are far away from your face.

They also have different color flip down shades you can install and different tinting levels.
