battery connections were clean but real loose, I could spin the connectors by hand.. tightened up now.

snorkel is back in.

idle sounds spot on and indicates 1000 rpm

should I do that TPS reset? I got a 04 I have to do that the old way..

Flax, I know I have a small leak right where the header meets my Jardine.. its hissing out of that slot that Jardine made in the pipe that connects to the header.. gas blows right downt that slot they cut and under the muffler clamp.. never figured out how I was supposed to plug that up.. I dont think the clamp will pinch it closed will it?

That far away from the 02 I wouldn't imagine that would be it but might be. I was thinking more around lose header bolt, blown exhaust gasket, etc... Something on that end. Try shaking your headers shouldn't have any play at all. It hard to see but is possible. I used my phone camera with the flash to get the best look.

Like I said, "it could be the 02 going bad too."

Good luck

about a year and a half ago maybe two years ago, I replaced those headers and put all new seals.. thing is, I only did a partial engine rotation and that back jug was hard to get to, I used like 2 or 3 swivels to getback there.. went on hard but it seemed to seal and there was no movement.. maybe it loosened but I dont hear any leak back there. I think Ill just run it and if the code comes back Ill get back in there and check it.

You can get to it without any engine rotate. There's a video in the DIY about header removal without rotate. It will show you how to get to it.

Its possible to not feel movement but have a leak which the video above will wall you through step by step

yeah crash.. thats what Im thinking. it was the last thing I changed on it..

Ill look into exhaust leaks if I get the code back.

could have been those battery terminals too.. one guy on here was saying that he got that same code and it was just loose connections.

I doubt the connection was a code 13, 16 would be more likely cause lets face it people are dumb and counting isn't most peoples string point... Oh and 16 is a battery code. Get that battery changed too, just cause it will leave you stranded and low battery will put a hard load on the charging system... And i really dont wanna try to walk you through diagnosing a charging system issue.

has anyone tried those chinese race batteries made out of those 8 AA cell Industrial grade litium ions? They save 9 lbs,, some kind of balancing wire in them too.. can they survive street duty? only 90 bucks!

check the vr 77 connector . Mine did the same thing. then started to lose charge. I changed the 77 connector and its working better than ever.
