In the articles that I have read it is going to be low production numbers, think bimota, it will be 30k+ they are not going to sell low price bikes right now the backing isnt there. No one will know the facts until it is released, I'm just expecting a high priced bike.

I'll throw my guess out there, it's not going to be a cheap bike, probably will hit $35-40k.

Like Dean said "guess" but I think he's in the right area. Most suppliers want a bulk order and when they don't get a bulk order the price goes way up for their parts.

i'm curious what he got in the works with BRP. Every question directed at collaboration with them, he says he cant answer it, instead of saying no. and i'm slightly curious about the whole "Bomber" Motorcycles Farce. i suspect there may have been more truth to the joke.

what I heard is Buell/BRP/MV/ are all working together and there is a chance KTM is with them too. . 4 small company working as one larger company . will get parts for cheaper

the hall of fame is only 60 miles from my house! then i found out its going to be at daytona [mad]

Got it.

Erik Buell to speak at Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Breakfast at Daytona Fundraiser
February 09, 2011

The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum is pleased to announce that motorcycle manufacturer Erik Buell will be the featured guest at its annual Breakfast at Daytona fundraiser, set for the Friday of Bike Week, March 11, at an all-new location inside the Daytona 500 Club in the infield of Daytona International Speedway.

Buell, a Hall of Famer and the innovative engineer who turned his love of roadracing and high-performance motorcycles into the American sportbike company that bore his name, will take the stage at the Hall of Fame fund-raising event to talk about motorcycles, his years running his company and what the future holds for one of America's most free-thinking bike-builders. Whether you're a fan of motorcycle history or modern motorcycle mastery, Buell's perspective on the past 20 years promises to make the 23rd annual edition of the breakfast a one-of-a-kind event.

"Erik Buell is a Hall of Famer not only for his innovative and dogged pursuit of motorcycling excellence, but also because the bikes he built were evocative and impressive enough to earn one of the most passionate fan bases in all of motorcycling," said Jeff Heininger, chairman of the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation that is responsible for raising funds for the Hall of Fame, which is on the campus of the American Motorcyclist Association in Pickerington, Ohio. "Few people have Erik's perspective on the parts of America's motorcycle history that are still being written today, and I, for one, can't wait to hear what he has to say."

Buell says he's been busy in the last year with his Erik Buell Racing company, but he's keeping his eye on even bigger things.

"For me, motorcycling has always been about the journey, about the people, about the ideas behind the machines, and it will be great to connect with enthusiasts at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast at Daytona fundraiser," Buell said. "And who knows? I may have a surprise or two to announce by then."

The Breakfast at Daytona will take place on March 11 in the main level of the Daytona 500 Club inside the Daytona International Speedway. The event also includes a silent auction of unique items related to the Hall of Fame, and an autograph session with Buell and other Motorcycle Hall of Famers.

Tickets are available for $75. All proceeds support the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. For more info or to register, please call (614) 856-2222, ext. 1234. Click here to download the registration form.

I'm not digging the 1190. I got a buell to be differant then everyone else not fall in line with them. Hope the typhon comes out. Its what a buell should look like.

i agree with you 110% there thnd3r.

sure hte new ebr needs to be race competitive, but i like like belt drive, and the uniqueness that was erik buell. i like hte CR cause it cross almost all the criteria. very cafe inspired and still belt drive, with good power. my xb is jsut a bike of fun.

that typhoon would be beside them both in a heart beat.

it will be interesting to see this new ebr bike. i am not already liking the sneak peak with the centred vertical lights (but then i also never liked and still dont like the fat gill like look of hte 1125r) and definately dont like the stuck to the run of standard side mount exhaust (if that happens... geez even other jap bikes can get a very short low slung exhaust now), but i wait to see the rest.

where erik did fall over was with the first release 1125r. it had miss match colour effect with the blue frame and still old model grey pillion supports. it demonstrated that although a very dynamic bike it lacked the attention to detail. it was finally in 09 when they started colour detailing better all their models and then released the 1125cr (shouldve been released before the R for sure for volume and acceptance) that heads really started to turn. i just hope his attention to detail on the new ebr is up to the design.

all of the problems with the newer buells you just described are harley caused. someone should write a wiki timeline about the issues between harley and buell. you know i just may. :D

thank you twoguns I was starting to think I was alone on this one. I agree that he needs a good race bike but still hoping for a streetfighter sometime.

For me the uniqueness isnt just in the sound look feel and character of the bike....But instead that it was American made. With times now when everything is made in china or japan it was nice to have Buell carrying the US flag in the manufacturing of a (and the only) sports motorcycle. It really is a shame. We need to become more of the manufacturers and innovators that our parents and theirs were before us. And not the lazy consumers we have developed into today. We sing Toby Keith songs about proud to be an American, need to get our act together and start acting like it.

well... ya see 12redline... i am not an american. i am an aussie! so for me it was the fact that buell made one awesome streetbike! :p
