you just need something small to put in the connector. there are tabs on the pins in the connector to keep them from getting pushed out. pushing the pins out and switching is way faster than cutting and splicing.

i hope you at least used a crimp connector and not just electrical tape. solder is the preferred method though if you cut a wire.

I put a very small allen key in the end and gave it a really hard push. It came out with a bit of force. Use the flat part of your pliers to push on the allen key if needed. Before reassembling, make sure you crimp the connector back into it's original shape with a pair of pliers before reinserting it into the connector housing. You DON'T have to cut wires.

Did it ! Took 15 min due to the little bastards not wanting to come out. But really happy with the result. Thanks enormously !

Has anyone else had a problem with blowing fuses after a while? I did the mod and it worked great for a while then fuses started popping and now im back to stock wiring

About a month ago my headlight fuse popped. I didn't think much of it and just replaced it.

This weekend I did the headlight mod, took about 10mins total. Flipped the key on, switched to highs and everything looked good. Then this morning I leave for work and the headlight fuse blows no more than 50ft from my driveway. WTF? Good news is the low beam still works as it now runs off of a different fuse.

Bad news is I have some sort of ground issue with my headlight circuit. Any takers on this one???

why doesent anyone make a kit so the bolth work with high and low all the time. its not just a seeing in the dark thing, but the bike looks much better and meaner with bolth lights on.

Lots of posts to read, however, there shouldn't be any electrical problem with this mod.

If it hasn't been noted already, all you're doing is converting the lighting to the Canadian model, maybe European too.

Ours are all wired that way.

(and, yep, I've recommended this mod before but it's too simple for some people who really want to out tech everybody else…)

it would be great if one of these buell parts places came out with a plug and go kit.
i dont want to cut or messs with wires.
when riding down a slow main street at night when people are looking at your bike with 1 light on with low beems it looks not so great.

Just did this, SUPER SUPER EASY!!! Anyone who ever rides at night should do this. I did a before and after test in my garage with the lights off, OMFG what a difference.

Big thumbs up for this mod.

I cannot get my wires out, can anyone help? I'm following the OP's directions but with no success [mad] using a small nail just like he did, but the wires aren't budging...

Oh and now both my lights aren't working. I think I bent something with the nail trying to get the connectors out[confused]
