Thanks! Probably get around to that in a month when I'm not riding at all everyday. And repaint the Chin Spoiler at that point as well

Success - finally!!! I was finally able to extract the 2 wire 'clips' from its container. The trick? there is a "barb" about 1/2 way down, referring to the pic it would be in the "Middle", that needs to be released...how did I do this? I used a diaper pin from the top to put pressure on the clip, then used a nail from going from the bottom, angled just like the pic shows. I position the nail under the clip and lifted it up - voila! - the clip popped out as it was released! No cutting of wires needed - just a ton of patience!!!

You guys who only took 10 minutes sure were either smarter or just maybe just lucky. :)

Thanks also to LeFox for his encouragement.
Hope this helps the next person as this is a gr8 mod.

My addendums to this mod-I did it last nite, spent 20 mins struggling with the upper part of the harness (as shown in the picture) then decided to give the bottom side a try. just pried those right out with a eyeglass sized screwdriver, and in 5 mins the whole thing was done and back together. Haven't actually ridden anywhere yet but it is working. Again easy mod (mostly) ;) that gets results to be easily recognizable

If you do not want to do this mod try putting your headlight switch in the middle and both lights will stay on all the time i have had mine like this for 6 months with no problems not even hitting a bump knocks the switch to low or hi beam try it works for me! ROCK ON ALL BUELLERS!

this is by far the easiest modification to do thanks to the wonderful and informative pictures supplied with easy wording. Thanks heaps speedkills.I had no luck in getting the terminals out of the (male plug --female terminal) side so i undid the retaining clip of the other plug and just pushed a small nail into the (male terminal)end, and before i could swear it came out easily.I swapped em over then "click" all back together and working a treat.cheers all.

Not done it yet but definitely will be soon. Thanks for a great dummy proof illustration...

Did this mod then added a pair of 8K HIDs...you wouldnt believe the difference.

wow

does everyone who did this mod keep their high beams on all the time then because from what i gather, your low beams stay the same but when you switch to your high beams both the high and low are on but do you guys ride with ur highs on all the time?

To Dodge - how hard was it fitting the HID's onto the bike? I am thinking of putting HID's on my '07 12s and not sure if there is alot of space to fit it all there. what buell do you have? Also do you have a link where you bought your HID's Thanks

Yeah, it's a little safer during the day and you don't get the "You've got a headlight out" comment all the time. Not to mention it's much better for night time riding also.

Oh, got the same model bike you've got..07XB12S

best mod I've done to date on the bike...turbo next..

:)

Yes I leave them on all the time. more chance of people seeing the lights during the day, and higher visibility at nite

Great mod excelent pics and step by step %100 better lighting. Took about 30 seconds after 30 minutes of searching for a nail...

Just did this little mod. It was a little tough getting the wires out of that harness but the effect is nice, I like it. Can some someone point me to some nice aftermarket bulbs? maybe some white ones?

Hey chase12s, If your ballin' on a budget like I am, Silver Stars are noticeably brighter than stock and can be picked up at wal-mart.

When people tell me I have a bulb out I just tell it only works in race mode [cool]

Yea i definitely am ballin on a budget right now:D, are they a different color or just brighter? thanks apex

Ok, maybe I'm missing something here. If I do this mod will both lights be on low beam on the low setting and then both on high when I switch to high beam setting? I alawys run high beam during the day anyways. Also, anyone running HID's on a XB12R?
