headlight recall

I read somewhere where you can retrofit a set of Hella aftermarket headlights into the Firebolts with some fabrication. They are supposed to be a much better solution to the crap headlights that Buell chose to put on these bikes in the first place.

Just got my headlights replaced by the dealer Tuesday, what a difference. I've been driving with my high beams on just to see 30 feet in front of me. Now my low beam is twice as bright and throws the beam twice as far as both lights did before.

Thanks for the info guys.I just had my Harley place order the lights. They didn`t give me any crap, and they did have they latest recall info there.
Appletons Harley Davidson in Clarksville,tn.931-648-1607.
Here is info just in case if it will help anyone.

The HD dealer close to me in Smithfield, NC is ordering the lights for me no questions asked. (919) 209-0014

Never even been to that store either as I just got the bike - but no issues there.

Thanks guys!

This morning I was in for my bi-annual vehicle check up. They failed my XB because the headlight was too bad. I went here to search for solutions to fix the problem and found this thread.... went over to the dealer with a print of earlier posted recall letter and booked time for them to fix it. They hadn´t even heard of the recall but checked with HQ and it was fine. They will do it for free a soon as they get the parts.

Still waiting on my dealer to get the new headlights in - ordered about 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure what's up.

Mine are at the dealer waiting on me to make a appointment when I get home in a week. Service manager said it only took 3 days to get them in.

Still shows as an open bulletin for my VIN.

Ordered the parts today. (Deeley shows 88 kits in stock in Ontario)

Dealer did mine last week, ordered parts a couple of weeks ago. No problems, and I can see now. All free

You guys are great thanks for the heads up, just ordered mine in Ontario. They didn't give me any problems at all :D

Just had mine done at the dealer, might help that I have a close buddy whose a service manager at Harley, but as far as i know they will still validate the recall

My dealer is telling me that I need to get the job done by Dec 20, which I will need to pay 70 dollars for the pickup and delivery of the bike because of the snow (NY). Is this right or are they trying to get 70 dollars out of me?

If ya cant ride due to the snow $70 seems fair for pickup and delivery. I had mine replaced just a few weeks ago and its amaizing the difrence in how much more light there is now.
