I like my Shoei. It was the one that fit me best. Try one the different ones ya like to see what fits best.

and it's the only helmet with a rechargeable battery system built in

...or is that what they WANT you to think?

My gf has that and the fans do work well, but i don't recommend it because it's really heavy and pretty ****** quality.

I wear a scorpion EXO-400 and love it. Comfortable, not too heavy, decent at blocking wind noise, finish on the helmet is awesome too. I've got a friend with an ex-400 and another with an exo-1000 and both love theirs.

You're absolutely right. IHT makes the system for both the Akuma, the AFX and the Shoei...if I remember correctly. The AFX is garbage...you get what you pay for. The Akuma is well made...it just doesn't fit my head type. It could be because of the pads more so than the shell, but when I put it on my chin is sticking too far under the bottom of the lid. It was pretty good at not fogging to.

My Shoei RF1000 is the best fit and best helmet I have ever owned. The Scorpion EXO 1000 was heavy..and the flip down visor didn't come down far enough...and it wasn't really dark enough.

My advice...if you ride a lot, spend the extra $$ to get one that fits, breathes well, is light and doesn't fog (if possible). An HJC can get the job done, just like an Arai can, but there IS a difference between the two. You may not even notice if you don't use it frequently...but I can sure tell.

Good luck.

Choose by what fits you head and try it on. Most people buy a helmet that is 1 to 2 sizes too big.

I got fitted at the Intl M/C Show in January and the
Arai Corsair V fit me the best out of all the helmet manufacturers on your list. Figures, somehow I always end up with the big money helmet fitting me the best. [sad]

Heads up: I was hoping to get the RX-Q to save some $$ over the V. The new Arai RX-Q has a different internal shape then the Corsair V. Do not assume that you'll be happy with the RX-Q if you love the V. I'm saving up for the V now.
