Just finished my Mauser 98 tactical build. Still needs a better scope, but I'll run her like this for now.

Mauser 98 comercial action, EGW scope base, Bold trigger, Hogue stock, Bushnell 3-9x scope, Wilson Arms 308 barrel shortened and threaded to 20 inches, my own bolt knob, and the deal-maker.... the first production run of CDI detachable magazine bottom metal using the AI magazines for the Mauser action!!!

im really happy with my millett trs-1 scope. its pretty good for the money. obviously not a nightforce or swarovski...but the price is significantly different.

I'm gonna have to get some pics of my 1911 A1 colt .45 army issue and my single action colt 44 army issue up today.

My wife has a BOB...

Ahhhhhh I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung!

Yea! Jessie you know what's up[cool]

So I am looking to purchase my first handgun and was leaning towards Sig because I like how they shoot and they usually fit my hand well. It will basically be a range gun so I've been leaning towards 9 mm just to keep it cheap to shoot. While I was at the shop browsing, a Walther PPQ in .40 caught my eye. I loved how it felt in my hand and the trigger feels great. I have been trying to track one down to try before I purchase but haven't had any luck. Problem is they are hard to come by, the few places I've called don't have any and haven't been able to get them in stock, maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. I don't know if its the fact that I can't get one easily or what, but it has taken my mind completely off Sig, which I know I like, and I now want the Walther PPQ, even though I have no experience with it and don't know if I'll like it. The reviews I have seen compare it to an HK P30, which I have shot and did like. The ambidextrous mag release was a bit awkward the first time I used it on the HK P30, but felt better on the Walther. The PPQ in the shop that actually has one in stock, is a .40, but I asked if they could find one in 9 mm for me. When I called to get an update I was told that S&W, the importer for Walther, has a shut down in August. I now impatiently wait for a call to find out when they will have it. So, does anyone here have, or has shot a 9 mm Walther PPQ? What was your take on it?

if it fits your hand well and you like the trigger pull then id say go for it if you can find one. I have the p30 .40cal and think its a great gun. I shoot idpa with it and use it for carry. I have not had one misfire or failure to feed. I think the quality is higher on the sigs and hk as compared to a s&w but you will pay for it. I havent felt the trigger on the ppq but i generally prefer the da/sa action of the sig and hk.

just read the ppq has a .1" trigger reset..thats pretty nice. id like to shoot one to give it a fair comparison.

Here's my older boy shooting my new rifle. Rock River Arms, LAR-15. It's a 20" varmint barrel.

The only "custom" work I have done on it is add the picatinny rail underneath the hand guard for the bi-pod. It has the RRA 2-stage trigger, I don't really care for it. I'd like something with a lighter pull. And I need a better scope, and a lot more practice with it.

At 200 yds I can hit a 6" target pretty consistently, at 300 I'm about 50/50 on a 12" target. That's with crappy factory re-load 55gr FMJ ammo. I haven't tired any match grade rounds through it yet.

My primary CCW. When I'm not using my cross breed, I just use this clipdraw that I mounted about 2 years ago. Strongly recommend this for inexpensive alternative to a concealed holster 2nd to the cross breed. This clipdraw has never failed in anyway. I never expected for $20.00 that it would last, but it has and i carry all the time and shoot quite often.

haha nice clip [up]

wonder if there'd be any way to rack a round on the belt for those that carry in condition 3:D
