After a few months of looking for my first bike, I finally bit the bullet and pulled the trigger on a 2009 XB12SCG unmolested that I found in Chicago with only 1499 miles on the clock. The bike is going to be shipped tomorrow evening and I should be receiving sometime this weekend. Services are all up to date and ready to ride. I just have to set the suspension to my weight. Considering who services this bike, I really found myself a real gem. Thank you coolice!!!

Congrats on the new bike. What a beauty and a definite score. Treat her well and she will continue to reward you with years of happiness.

Thanks all. Taking a riders class next weekend. Still looking for some gear. I can't wait to get her on the road.

Probably my top choice for Buell. Beautiful color, and the suspension needed for my stumpy legs...
@pur pony - you can always donate your x1 to my garage, and my xb will keep it company

I'm not the tallest of a person either and this is why the SCG was a must have for me. Not that I would think I would have an issue as I ride my brothers R1 around without any issues.

What do you suggest for frame pucks and axle sliders? Definitely would want some bars end mirrors but I'm not really sure what would work best for me as of yet. I know a fender eliminator is a must for me.

Stock frame pucks. Use surdyke Harley if you want, they are usually best priced. I have 50-Dro axle sliders, spoiled for the ass end to use a stand.
Make your own fender elim. Grinder will take you an hour to cut and smooth. Then another hour for a couple coats of paint. Drill some holes for a license plate holder if you want... Don't forget to cut a notch for your plate light.
eBay bar ends for 20 bucks will probably be just fine.

Also, get some adjustable shorty levers. I have asv, and love them. 3 year break guarantee, and I think Dro sells them now too

I finally got it registered and took it out for the first time yesterday and I am still grinning ear to ear. I took the day off tomorrow to get an inspection sticker and gave myself an excuse to ride all day. Couldn't be happier with any other first bike.

I will take some pics when I am out tomorrow. Really nothing to show as I have not made any changes. Received my Arai RX-Q yesterday. Got a jacket and gloves on the way.
