Hello guys,
Got my bike on last sep, 11. Since I didnt have much luck.
Today I was coming home under a light rain and after about 3 miles the engine stopped. I try to start it again many times, but it didnt work. Inever did any mod to the bike and it is fully stock. On wed I change the belt that broke last week.
It is a XB9SX 2008 with 10000 miles.

Any suggestion of what happened? I appreciate.

I tryed the following procedure, but it didnt work:
To reset an 08+ Buell, do the following:
1. Turn on the key.
2. Set the kill switch to the run position.
3. Don’t start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently forced closed) to fully
open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently forced closed).
4. Repeat 3 times. Hold each position (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second.
5. Turn the key off and on.

Here is a video i made at the street. (how do I embed?)
http://youtu.be/SIifskKTjAo

I've rode in rain and the bike has bogged down, (rpm dropped) my air filter got really wet and was ingesting water, once out of the rain the bike recovered, rpm's were back to normal...normal being between 4000 t0 4300 @ about 80mph, it happens only when riding in the rain... I have an '03 XB9S

When I ride the rain everytime for a week or so id have terrible power loss, it turned out to be water getting in the front cylinder spark plug wire. But never a no start up issue.

when u changed the belt, did u have the battery unhooked? or did u not ride it for a while? 4 yr old battery, 10K miles, might need to check the battery.

I've had issues with my battery terminals vibrating loose. Took me getting stuck at work twice scratching my head to get off my ass & buy some Loctite. Use the blue, not the red. Also tighten your terminals with a socket instead of a screwdriver. It's what I did & I haven't had any problems yet......so far

Hello guys! thanks for the help!
I tried the fuses and found out that one fuse is gone burned I took a picture to show you. Do anybody know what this fuse is connected to?
I didnt consider the battery as a problem, since the motor is rolling, as you can see on the video..
Thanks!

Thats an extra fuse, so just replace it with a good one. I'm going to agree with the above post in that it's possibly a wet plug boot or wire(s). The fact ta it cranks so well pretty much rules out the battery. Look for wet electronics...

I just tried one more time.. It didnt work.. [sad]
The last two days was very dry and hot...

In last bikes I owned, when I turned the key on, I could hear the fuel pump for one second. That is not happening to my bike.. Is this right? Or my bike was supposed to make the same fuel pump sound when key is on?

Tks!

yes, the fuel pump is suppose to prime. i had to replace the wires on my fuel pump 2 yrs ago. 2007 xb9r firebolt. could of been a recall on '08s. not sure. check the battery voltage. sounds like ur battery is going out.

If it was a bad battery the fuel pump priming would sound weak (until the battery completely died). Charge your battery and check the voltage. If it doesn't read 12.7 at full charge then its time to replace the battery regardless if its the root cause of your problem. Check your plugs, I had a problem starting my bike right after I bought it, ended up being a fouled front spark plug.

If the motor is cranking over but you don't hear your fuel pump priming I would check and see if you are getting power to the fuel pump. Use a multi-meter to see if you get voltage to the pump, should be 12 volts, someone please correct me if i am wrong. I know on my bike the pump is more than loud enough to hear. Have the leads on the terminals in the connector when you turn the key on because the pump only primes for about 5 seconds. If you DO GET POWER then check and make sure you also get voltage while cranking. If you get NO POWER trace your wires back and see if there are any problems with any of those. If you get NO VOLTAGE and your wires are good, double and triple check your fuel pump fuse in the upper right corner of your picture you posted. If you can't find a problem i would say it is a POSSIBLE ecm problem, not defiantly. If you ARE getting power at your fuel pump connector and you do NOT hear the pump prime I would say you either have a bad connection at the pump or a bad pump. AS WITH ANYTHING ELECTRICAL double check ALL GROUND WIRES. Sorry for the CAPS but I was trying to highlight key points.
