Hello Everyone! I just picked up a completely stock (almost new) CityX in Cherry Bomb Red - I just stare at it when I'm not riding it :). Just wanted to say hello and was wondering if there were any necessary mods that anyone would recommend - this is my second season riding, and I just upgraded from a Buell Blast, so mostly just safety conscious right now. Ill post some pics when I figure out how. Thanks!

Welcome to the board! Lots of info and help on here. Pics help so we can see what mods are done.

Congrats on the new bike! As Redstang said, throw up some pics when you get a chance. [up]

Just got these pics up - she's only got about 1K miles on her! I'm going to change that pretty quick :)

Looks nice! Welcome!

I have some suggestions on mods but I may be a bit biased?!?!? :p Have a look at my site for some axle sliders, pulley covers and our upcoming case sliders (currently on special).

Also...One of the first things we all (well almost all) do is chop the tail, change the mirrors and signals! Be careful though, modding is an addiction! :D

Take care!

Welcome! I'm relatively new and sorting out what Buell I want myself, but from what I've read is that a lot of people say the RSS (Right Side Scoop) is pretty beneficial to help cool down that angry v-twin. also from what I've read its pretty cheap and its the Uly Comfort kit? someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thats a great looking bike BTW. Love the color and looks brand new. Have fun!

thank you 50dro - those look like some very sensible additions. I can see how this can be addictive!

great looking bike.right side scoop, axle sliders, tail chop and remove warning stickers and reflectors.

Man I remember when my bike started stock.buells are super addictive and I know you just stare at it sometimes like I do to mine.I love my 50-dro parts.they look good, are affordable and are protective.and for sure get a right side scoop.

Thanks man![up]

Definitely go for the right side scoop. I always forget to suggest it but it's been by far the best bang for my buck mod I've done on my XB to date (if you get one of the OEM ones). Amazing how much cooler the bike runs! :D

Good start!

He's got a blank canvas! So much fun ahead!

Just browse the forum, you'll find a ton of ideas, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of guys here eager to help![up]

Wow! Thank you all for the great suggestions - I think I'll definitely start with the scoop and the sliders.
@Lunaticfringe, this bike was on sale in Detroit MI, so we drove up from Indy to "look" at it, and couldn't drive back down without it!

Breather re route, cant believe no one mentioned that...

Bar end mirrors, or if you dont dig that style, anything other than stock mirrors. Tail chop for sure. Exhaust of your choice.

got ya on detroit. what you were fortunate enough to buy there is my fav buell of all time. but that's me. i sense prices creeping up on the XB models so you bought into the addiction at a good time. enjoy it and safe riding.
