Got the forks for $40! New seals and I'm good.

I was reading your build thread the other day. Looks sweet. I need to make a build thread even though mine is almost done.

I am gonna post most of the pictures on here...Its too hard posting pics on Supermoto because on Buellxb I can load straight from my phone

Aww man......I almost traded my Buell for a tarded xr650r a couple years ago. That was when it was all stock with less than half the miles. Just got my service manual for the SP a few minutes ago. We just got a couple inches of snow, and I wanna ride. That must be my reasoning for the dirt set-up. Winter riding! Before I found the SP, I was looking for a basket case WR400 with a title. I have a thing for the kick start I spose. Max, love the KTM. I've been spyin on those for a few years now, and I like em better than the BMW lineup. As much as I like the Beemers, the maintenance cost is high IMHO. Plus, ya get better suspension for a better price. Cheers fellas! More pics please!

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about not having an electric start, but I don't really miss it at all, except for when you're working on the bike and have to keep kicking it over and over. Otherwise it usually starts on the first kick every time. Only thing I need is an auto-decomp camp to make my life a little easier.

Sold quite a few Suzuki DRZ 400's and 400SM's and I like them a lot. May have to pick one up one of these days. Never rode too far on one and at 5'7" it's almost too tall with stock seat, so I'd have to get the lower one.

I have one but my bike hates it. You saw it the damn thing cranks over all day with the electric start but won't start. One kick and it fires up every time. IDK whats wrong with it. But it starts. So who gives a damn.

I need a 17" front wheel so I can check my suspension sag before tear-down for paint/powdercoat. I was looking at the schematic for the bike last night, and I think I'm going to make a new dash/info center. The stock dash is really cheesy. Maybe a Vapor unit. It could easily eliminate half the circuits from the bike. "Simple" it up a bit.

I bought a vapor for $116 last week at motorcycle superstore. It does RPM, Speed, ODO, and Engine Temp. Didn't try the install yet but it looks pretty simple. I am in a fight with my axles because the bearings are rusted to them so once I get them out I am going to need new front and rear bearings as well. Gotta love teardown projects

I'm 5'8, and wasn't sure how it would go. You need a little time to get used to it but it's really not bad. It was the same story with sportbikes, they seem too tall since I was always on my toes, but then I bought my xb9sL and just thought it felt too low. I was happy to be back on a bike where I could only get my toes on the ground haha. Anything else just feels too small now. You might also feel more comfortable if you find a wr450 or ktm that's lighter, the lighter it is, the less you'll notice the height when you're not moving.

I'm happy with mine, and with everything I've been dealing with since I bought my bike I'm not touching anything this year after I get it running again(except for the auto-decomp cam and some new stickers), but someday down the line I think I'll definitely go for one of the computers that you got. I've had bikes with tachometers all my life and it's really hard to get used to one that doesn't.

I had to beat my axles out with a sledge hammer because my bearings were rusted to the axle. Took me and my dad 3 days until be borrowed a heat machine to be able to get them out. Worst thing ever.

Got the new steering stops welded on the lower triple. While cleaning the soot from the welds, I got carried away, and wound up removing the casting part line from the whole triple. Looks like billet now. I just picked up a powder coated black upper tree too!!! :D

So, I have the front tire before I even have the front hoop laced. I also got the stock YZ front wheel (without a tire), which so happens to same diameter as the 120-17 Pilot Power thats going to get laced to the front hub. I can check my suspension sag values right away. SWEET!!!!![cool]

My list 'o" shyt.
Check suspension.
Take it apart to paint everything.
Leakdown test.
Fit rear YZ wheel and brake (no more drum brakes).
Make a new kick stand.
Get moto hoops, paint and lace them to the YZ hubs.
I would say a good 2-4 months.
I fidget with it while my machine is running.
Buell gets fork oil change, and bearings this year.
Also, I just got my SM disc from EBC, and theres an EBR 1190 on the box. Once again: SWEET![cool]
