i never ride on the highway. i realize it could happen anywhere but i feel like the percentage of that type of crash is much higher and the speeds are greater.

glad he lived, any time im in traffic and i have to brake hard, the first thing i do is look for my exit in the shoulder, then the rear view for the car behind. Never trust anyone, guy tried to run me into the curb yesterday because he didnt check his blind spot when i was passing him. luckily saw it coming

Hate stupid cagers though you see he locked up his breaks so traffic came to a fast stop. Thats still no excuse, he should be getting a huge settlement from that driver and i hope he thank or other two vehicles who did their best to stop ASAP when they saw him on the rode.

its easy to analyze a video after all's said and done, and yes he did lock his rear wheel up as you can see the smoke. But when you have a car full of girls/kids/people dancing around with loud music on and not paying attention, sometimes it doesn't matter if you do everything right so long as the car is doing everything wrong. some accidents are unavoidable.

I'd much rather ride on the highway, it's easier to at least know what drivers are "supposed" to do. In town people miss turns, do illegal U turns, slow and stop all of a sudden. The problem here happens when you're in a car too, not looking five to ten cars ahead and driving to fast in traffic. The two second rule would have prevented the lock up.

After almost 20 years of driving commercially these skills come in handy no matter what your driving.
If you notice, the white truck was next to him right when he applied his brakes. He probably didn't shoot to the right so he wouldn't cause an accident. He couldn't go on the left shoulder because there isn't one. Just saying !
