LS engines FTW :)

My buddy's nearly stock z28 runs 12.8 with a few bolt ons and tune, what a great engine. And that's 10 year old technology...

Doesn't help the OP though lol.

LSx engines are hand made by God.......

everyone knows this.

i miss my black WS6 :(

i'll spare you the pictures though - i post enough already HAHA !!!

i miss my black WS6

You didn't happen to sell it to Randy Travis did you? If so, it's not in very good condition as of last night:

did you see his mug shot !?!?

guy was literally looking at the camera like he wanted to fight the photographer HAHA !!!

Well I got it under control adjusted the level of the radiator and put the top and side shrouds on and she's stay at 187 sitting still. And 170 at a steady 65 mph.

Scratch that still over heating. I'm ready for it to blow up. Or sell the fucking thing.

Are you sure you have all of the air out of the cooling system? What mix of coolant/water are you using? The more coolant(and less water) the less cooling capacity(water will carry heat out of the engine, coolant will retain it).

Park the car so it's on flat ground, or even better get the front of the car up high a little bit(park on a slight hill or just jack the front up). You want the radiator cap to be the highest point in the cooling system. Remove the cap(cold), start the car, normally you'd put the heater on but looks like you have that bypassed, let the car idle to operating temp(so the tstat opens). Keep the radiator full at all times. Also, keep the expansion tank at proper level. As it's warming up squeeze the radiator hoses to "burp" the air out. You can also tap the tstat housing and radiator with a wrench or something to burp the air out. After this replace the cap, shut the engine off and let it cool down. Remove cap and top if off(may have to do this a few times for a few heat cycles).

There's no use throwing money at it, you need to diagnose it and figure out what the problem is. You just spent a lot of money on radiator and electric fans, now talking about spending a lot on electric water pump. The problem could be free(air in the lines), could be $10(tstat sticking closed), or anything else. If you don't diagnose it you might as well just start throwing dollar bills in the toilet, make sure to flush every once in a while as to not clog it...

...seriously though, need to diagnose it to solve the problem and avoid frustration and mindlessly spending money.

Start with purging all the air out, that might be the entire problem if there's a lot of air in there.

Then post back with any results(or lack of results) and can take the next step.

Also, can you post pics of the expansion tank, radiator, and fans?

Also, buy a $7 coolant tester and be sure the coolant you are using is good.

Dude just buy a coolant tester and make sure you get the coolant/water mix correct. They are like $7. Having too little coolant will cause other problems(corrosion, and obviously freezing). You want a 50/50 mix. If you're in a REALLY cold area 60/40 max.

Didn't think about the tstat installed backwards, double check that...

If you didn't want the help why'd you ask...

I used to drill 3 1/16" holes around my t-stat flange before installing it to allow some coolant to bypass before it opens. In addition, it will help purge air from the system faster. Something like this...

You never did say if you checked the coolant mixture ratio. Did you have the radiator cap tested or replaced? It may not be allowing the system to pressurize or over pressurizing.

Personally, I think you have one or more things going on.

A blockage in the system somewhere that impedes the flow of coolant. This can and MAY include air.

High compression heads/pistons without fuel compensation, i.e. you're running lean = hotter. Can't really help here, I don't really know jack about Ford EFI. Hooking up a fuel pressure guage to the rail might help, stock is 39 psi.

A bad water pump/fan. Some of those cheap electric fans don't have enough pitch (volume) to cool a v8. You pull the water pump and inspect it for problems? I've seen impellers that had simply dissolved away and the water pump isn't really doing shit to help cool the motor.

I agree with this. No offense to OP but your poor understanding of how the cooling system works is effecting your ability to fix it. You need to do the things we mentioned to figure out what the problem is.

The holes in the tstat is a good idea, or at least one. The engine in my 2010 ram actually has this from the factory(although with a one way "valve").

Check coolant($7 tester). Correct the ratio if needed.
Purge all air out.
Verify tstat is installed the correct way.
Check water pump.

I'd bet by this point it'll be running cool, at least while at speed. Like he said above, a cheap efan may not cool enough though when sitting still.
