EBR doesn't have anything concrete for a production bike at this point, right? Still up in the air!

Could be waiting a loooooong time!

Actually. I'm pretty sure he has already started production

There was also a video of him doing a tour of the warehouse where the 1190s are produced. I'm pretty sire the red ones are one a few different color schemes. So you might wanna catch up a tad. He's had plans for quite a while. You really think his intention was to make 100 bikes slap himself on the ass and say "good game man" and call it quits? Twiddle his thumbs and say "I did good with 100 bikes?" He's already announced multiple times he's bringing the price down to affordable every day streetbike pricing.

Soon you say he's got nothing concrete? Do some reading and catch yourself up.

haha i get jokes

Hahaha i just got it too!!
but I personally would wait to see what EBR is gonna come up with, but thats solely based on the fact that i wont have the money for either for a long time. I do love the KTM! its a sexy bike and seems verry similar to the EBR1190RS.

That post read a little defensive! didn't mean to step on toes GoDuc!

No I don't think he's making 100 bikes and patting himself on the back. But I also don't think a few Amsoil shirts and brake rotors exactly quantify him as a guy that's hit the market with a production line of motorcycles. Do i think its the first step, sure I do. And I think he's making 100 bikes in an effort to launch and promote his new brand, test the market, create excitement, and a myriad of other reasons, one of which is to eventually have a production line hit the market.

Do I think he will eventually have a line of production bikes, yes I do!
Do I know that he currently has no production bikes for sale! I'd say so. Unless you call 100 bikes a mass produced line that we are referring to.

Now that you've caught me and everyone else up, how about you offer up which dealerships have his 'affordable' production bikes in-house and for sale today? And what's the price point?

All I'm saying GoDuc is I don't know that any of us really know anything concrete yet! i.e. dates, price points, who's going to be selling them, etc. I believe it's all speculation at this point, am I wrong? If I am wrong, am happy to concede. and I don't doubt you know 1000% more about Buells, EBR, motorcycles, and whatever else, but I know you can't buy them today.

Listen, I'm just as excited as the next guy to have a brand new, fully supported Erik Buell bike in my garage. I just don't know when that will be! That's all I was saying! Nothing more, nothing less!

Those are the $40,000 production models not the so called "Consumer" models said to be priced around 20K.

That's what I'm referring to. The affordable consumer model, not the $44k 1190.

I wasnt intending this to turn into an ugly debate. My original comments were really directed to mogowli84 and his original post simply saying he's got money to burn and an obvious interest in the rc8. He can obviously wait for EBRs production model, but how long will he have to wait? A month, 6 months, year? I just personally don't know.

For all I know, EBR could be sitting on 10k bikes just waiting for 'the announcement' someone referred to above. If so then mogowli's really got some decisions to make. :D

Very true. They better not give us some BS announcement either "our new logo shirts are in" or something haha

By the way the new 1190 isn't red it's orange and black and pearl white and black. It's hat to see in a picture but if you saw it in person you would drool.

Don't shoot, but, the RC8 looks kinda "TRON" ish,I prefer the organic lines of Erik's design, the only thing I see functionally different is the "Fuel In Frame"

thanks for the responses! although I am leaning towards the rc8r I will definitely wait til late winter early spring. no sense in buying a bike and having it burn my eye balls out all winter...but the 15k I got saved is burning a hole in my pocket! haha

like someone said above, the only thing I don't want is an ebr bike that is dialed down below the performance standards of the rc8 in order to meet a price point. however, even if the ebr machine is slighlty under powered it'd make for a tough decision; swing over to ktm and a new company...or stay loyal to a company and vision that built the funnest and one of the most reliable bikes I have ever owned. (my STT).

So, I will be putting a poster of both the rc and whatever ebr releases up on my wall :)

its gonna be a long winter :p

I couldn't wait that long personally. Glad I live in Socal where we get 300+ days of riding a year.
