Imo, you can't go wrong with michelin tires. I have run multiple sets of both, pilot powers, pilot power 2ct's and power pures.
For me the best all around tire I have used has been on 2ct's. They grip, and seem to last well compared to some other dual compound tires from other brands.
If you talk to most any guy at a shop who regularly installs tires, you will most likely always hear them rave about how nicely michelin tires mount up, and how they rarely need much balancing.

My 1125 I just picked up currently has Bridgestone Battlax BT-016's on it. I have only ran a few sets of these on the k1200r, never on a buell but I can say that they are not all that bad, they have a pretty good drop in, and grip pretty well. However, I will run them til they are done, then go back to pures of pilots. I think some will agree with me, once you start regularly using michelin tires, its hard to go back to something different.

Just my 2cents!

I had pilot powers on my 2006 r6 before I traded it. They were nice tires I will agree on that. I rode my friends R1 with the 2CT tires and it is a noticeable difference. The dunlop Q2 is at a good price on sport Ike track gear right now and I have heard and read positive attributes about this tire as well. I really believe it is what is best for you and your riding style.[cool]

I put Bridgestone BT-014's (supersport tire) on mine when I got it, and didn't know that it was slow to turn in and required a lot of effort to hold a line. This year I put Continental ContiMotion sport-touring tires on it, and I LOVE them. They don't have unlimited grip, but for commuting and the occasional twisty road, they are great. AND, you can get both front and rear for under $200 from Motorcycle-Superstore.com. Best tire deal I've ever found.

Between the suspension tuning and the new Q2's, the bike feels alot more user friendly. The Q2s are great. It didnt speed the turning up as much as I'd hoped. But just getting new tires with no flat spots makes the transitions much smoother. These tires hoo up great when new. Hope it stays that way as it wears.

Where did you end up buying them from? I enjoy the confidence they give you when leaning nice into a turn. Very pleased[cool]
