I have been having some starting problems with my 2007 xb12ss. (1900 Miles) I am 99% sure that everything (all wiring, relays, breakers etc.) is good to the starter.

I have taken the starter off and bench tested it. It spins freely with power to it.

Has any ever heard of performing a "load" test on a starter. I believe the starter does not have enough "ooomph" to kick over the engine. I think that the starter is the problem, but wanna know for sure before I buy one.

Any ideas on the "load" test is appreciated

not sure about the load test but my battery was at like 50 percent the other day and it wouldn't start the bike but it would just keep turning it over...I put it on a tender to 100% and it started right up. maybe check that? sorry if it doesn't help.

The best load test is probably on the bike. With that year and mileage, the first suspect would be the battery.

Does it roll over at all?
What happens to the lights when starting?
What's the temperature?
What oil are you running?
Are the 2 end cap screws tight?
Have you tried it with the plugs out?

yes it does exist.you hook the tester to a bike disable the ign system or fuel so it wont start.choose starter test on key board screen will prompt you to crank engine it measures the amps the starter pulls while cranking displays results on screen with a print option.if you bring it to amarillo ill check it for free.:D
