vararam is pretty cool, just be sure when you install it you do something so it doesn't rub a hole in the ac condenser/trans cooler unit(some have reported that it did).

I was looking at them. I'm not to sure of the design on them, I don't like how everything is supported on the one silicone tube coming out of the throttle body also the fact that you have to remove the factory plastic along the radiator. Do you have one? I was looking at the Mopar set up, to me it looks the best quality wise that I have seen.

I have a 4.7L not a hemi so the vararam wouldn't work for me. The only issue I've seen with the vararam is it rubbing on the cooler/condenser, but that could be easily fixed/avoided during common sense upon install I'm sure.

They have the biggest gains by far since it's sort of a ram air effect.

If you were to get something else I'd just get a K&N, airaid, volant(probably my next choice since it has a closed box), etc.... not a mopar because IIRC the mopar is just a K&N but like double the price.

I know what your saying, I just dont like the plastic tube that K&N use's. It looks cheap to me!

Until a Programer for the 2011-2012 Hemi is avaliable a air intake is not going to do anything but create more noise. The factory airbox flow more air than the motor can use Untill you do things such as Headers and head work....... If you want to pour money into her look into gears and Trans work.

While I agree with freak that the factory airbox can flow as much as needed I'd at least do a drop in high flow filter. The size of the filter is pretty large, not really needed to go aftermarket. Some people just want the look of aftermarket though.

An intake and exhaust will still give performance gains without tuning, just not as much. More air in will tell the computer to add more fuel(it will maintain the a/f ratio). So you will still get more power.

Sucks that there is no tuning, that's one reason I bought a 2010. My 4.7 with my mods runs with the hemi but if there was tuning available I'd consider trading to a newer express hemi, but if I can't tune it I don't want it.

As far as the tube goes plastic would technically be "better" for performance due to not transferring heat as fast as metal. Though it wouldn't be anything noticeable.

The biggest restriction in the intake is the tube that goes from the airbox to the fender(the fender draws air from a ~1" hole).

I have also thought about doing a drop in. I have ran K&N's before, but any reccomendations. AFE is suppose to make a descent drop in that is a dry filter. Any suggestions? That would give me money to throw at the Buell. Like you guys said, it seems like its take forever for these companies to crack the codes. As of right now the truck is pretty fast. I have whipped a few mustangs and silverados.

I have an airaid dry drop in I love it, very easy to maintain. Just wash it with water/dish soap then let dry. NO OIL!!!! lol.

It was like $50 on ebay. Same filter for the hemi.

You could also spend ~$125 and do the "fastman" TB mod, mail it to this guy he tapers and polishes the TB and removes the shaft across the butterfly, pretty cheap mod. Not a huge difference but helps. I even have a spare hemi TB I'd give you cheap so you wouldn't have to have down time. I bought it try to adapt to my 4.7L but it is larger than the manifold(tb is 80mm and manifold is 78mm) so I see not point. I bought it from a guy cheap on a forum he took it off his truck to buy an aftermarket one, basically brand new, he sold it to me for like $30 I'd sell it for just a few more to cover shipping.

MY truck has less then 5,000 miles on it right now and since there isn't a tuner out I dont really want to start messing with other things. I appreciate the offer though. I will check out the airraid filter. I just like the sound of that air sucking in of a cai

You could also remove that small tube from the airbox to the fender, and run a tube from the airbox to near the bumper to get more airflow and colder air. That'll add a lot of noise too if that's what you're after lol.

Dang you guys need to get out and drive more! lol. I have 63k on mine.

Hhaha, Just bought mine in April. I only have a 18 mile trip to work. When we go someplace as a family we drive the Durango (with the Hemi). We have had that for 10 months and already have 16,000 on it.

Those durango's are sweet [up]. My wife wants one but we can't spend that much on an suv haha. We lucked out and got a great deal on the ram used else I wouldn't have been able to buy it either.

The rams are great, my brother had an 09, now a 2011 express(old truck was wrecked), my buddy had an 05, now a 2011 RT, my dad has an 05, my other brother has a 2007, and I know a bunch of others. Hardly any issues in any of the trucks.

There's a guy that lives near me he has a 2011 express it ran 12.4 in the 1/4 miles(on juice).

Mines only 4 months old and has 13k on it. All ive done is add cupholder light, Borla ProXS muffler, and chopped a coil off the rear springs to get it almost level.

Yeah the durango is sweet. I actually had bought a previous year model and got over 10K off of sticker. I dont see myself driving anything besides Mopar from here on out.

freak I lowered the back of mine too lol. The rake drove me nuts, sits nice and level now(nearly).

It's my first mopar but I really like it. I drove GM's before and never had issues with them. Had ford's and always had issues.

I did the Flowmaster muffler, I saw no since on swapping a stainless steel facotry dual exhaust out. Just the Muffler woke her up pretty good. I have thought about doing resonator delete but have heard mixed things. I tend to like the rack, gives it that muscle truck look, but I would like to drop it 2 inches front and rear.

Thats a nice ram in the vid.
