Nope 200mm fits just fine you just need to remove the belt guard or notch it for the tire clearance.

Just ordered my 200mm yesterday! Went with the Metzler Sportec M3's thanks to LeFox's (the big topic: tires) thread and the 200mm thanks to this thread.

Thinking about doing this but I've got an '07 12r. Will I be able to just set it up like it's described here?

Yup, just need to take off the belt guard or notch it for the widened tire. no other modifications are needed.

What pressure were you running your rear tire at? did you stay with the recommended pressure?

Yeah I just stuck to the recommended pressure [up], right around 40psi maybe a touch lower if anything.

Cool, yeah I have all of the paperwork to do to get my bike registered in NC and base stuff when I get back from the deployment so I think I am going to take the wheels to get powder coated and put new rubber on them right away. Thanks man

for those concerned with the height of the tire its self you can figure this out by using the size the stock tire is a 180/55zr17 180 is with 55 is percentage of the with to give you the height of the sidewall and 17 is the rim size so to get height in inches take with/25.4(to convert to inches) with in inches*aspect raito(middle number) then multiply by 2 because a tire is a circle and has a sidewall on top and bottom then add the rim size. So by doing this you get a stock tire(180/55zr17) sits 24.79" high and a 200/50zr17 is 24.87"

Good call njdevils1990, but Do take into consideration each manufactures is a bit different in both height and width of their tires.

BTW xtreme, this is a great right up. Whenever I'm ready for a new rear tire, I'm going with a 200.

If anything I would go with a 190 its right inbetween stock and wide and you shouldn't have to do any modifications.and would be a bit safer for the width of the rear rim allthough I do like the look of the 200 but from reading a couple other posts I would personally go no with a 190

how much does it usually cost to have one of this put on? I think I heard someone say 85 at a HD store, thats a lot!

Does anyone have any pics of 190/200 on a 04+ with the wider belt. Im just curious about the belt clearance on the newer bikes.

I have the wider belt on my bike, so the picture of the belt and tire In the thread is what you will get.
