But, as the self-proclaimed gear nazi, you really need to ditch the board shoes for some riding boots. At a minimum something that goes over the ankle.
I guess the board shoes are a fashion statement. And, I guess road rash is too.
I ride with Shift Boots but use to stunt with DC's much more grip as the shoe is softer, no protection but the grip of the softer sole is great for stunt riding. I dont really do much stunting so the riding boots suit my needs great without a sacrifice in saftey, and the occasional wheelie or what not is still cool with the boots.
I typically wear boots if going longer than around the block, but cant wear them for long as they arent the best for walking. have had my share of road rash, not so much into that fashion statement.
