Excellent mod, I've done well. For Buell owners in the Czech Republic where I founded the site describe these things as well.
With this mod is a good idea to stick a voltmeter smoke film, such as darkening the windows, then the numbers legible.

Decided to go with the green display.
Having the red display myself, I can appreciate that there may be an advantage to the green display. I find the red display can be distracting when glimpsed with peripheral vision because of the association red idiot lights have with imminent or catastrophic engine failure. I often find myself double-checking the dash to ensure it's not the oil light I'm seeing. If were to do this mod again, I'd use a green or blue display...

Yes, that was my reasoning behind using green. Having said that, does anyone want or need blue gauges? I have 3 sitting here on my desk (my buddy is going to take the red ones for his slammed, stretched scooter projects).

I didn't think about the red being distracting ... I was going for the red but now just changed my mind .... I might be interested in your offer s0dhi ! Just let me know on the post or by PM. I think you're in Canada also , am I mistaking ? I'm in Montreal, Quebec.

Yup. I'm in the Toronto area.

I'm flying into YUL tomorrow afternoon to head down to Plattsburgh to visit a client site. I'm also passing back through Montreal on Saturday afternoon on the way home.

They're yours if you want them. PM with your address or number if you want me to mail them or hand them to you. [up]

Thats an excellent point about the GREEN VS RED colors, thank you for pointing that out. especially in this install with the close proximity of the idiot light. I bought a bunch of these for several projects, I will keep it in mind for future ones. rep point for you [up]

For the small voltage drop (from at battery reading to gauge hooked to light in cluster) you can just adjust the gauge to be accurate. I hooked up my gauge and used a multimeter on the battery and noticed only a small difference (like most people have noted). If you look on the back of the gauge there will be a small silver circle with a Philips looking pattern. turn this counter clockwise to up the reading and clockwise to turn it down a bit. I simply adjusted till the readings match. Now I have the same reading at my battery as I do in the cluster. This is a sweet mod by the way. Looks awesome when completed!

Finally did the mod too ! Very happy with the result !
