A heavily armed nutter on a high speed train from amsterdam to paris was taken down by 2 US Marines! These men saved countless lives so give them a medal i say! They were on holiday and totally unarmed, their bravery is amazing! You can take a man out of the Marines but you cant take the Marines out of the man!!

Semper Fi/Semper fidelis is a Latin phrase that means "always faithful" or "always loyal". In the United States it is best known as the motto of the United States Marine Corps.

Hey Tone while I was active duty, had the opportunity to workwith some SAS guys on a combined training exercise. Lots of respect for them. Some of the best I have ever had the privilege working with.

Man thats cool it must have been mutual respect i would think! i never really wanted to join the army but i do wish i had been good enough (no way!) to be able to join one of the elite forces! i have total respect for ALL the forces past, present and future!!

Not to diminish the awesomeness of the Marines, but none of the 3 Americans who are credited with the takedown of the gunman were Marines. Spencer Stone is an Air Force Airman, Alek Skarlatos is an Army National Guardsman and Anthony Sadler is a college student in Sacramento, CA. Headlines for some of the online articles do mention 2 Marines, but are inaccurate due to a rush to get the story out or lazy journalism. Photos of the 2 service members clearly show them in their Air Force and Army uniforms.

it's all good. I think the moral of the story is the world is getting tired of this radical Islam bull**** and we are going to start fighting back.

And everyone wants to be a Marine. The airman and soldier involved probably told reporters they were Marines. They tell girls stuff like that all the time....

Don't want this to start a blaze!

I need to brush up on all the different forces both American and British as i would like to know more about who`s who! Either way no matter what force, rank etc etc the men showed great bravery, everyone got to go home that day and the scum bastard didnt get made a martyr thats a win win situation i reckon!!

read that story Friday morning and thought it odd of the title involving Marines, anyway glad they got his a$$ down.

Marines....Devil Dogs / jar heads
Navy...sailors / squids
Army...soldiers
Air Force...prima donnas / pussies

Thanks thrstmech the air force one made me laugh! yeah the bbc said marines i should have gone on a proper news channel and got the real story! ha ha

Air Force...prima donnas / pussies

my girlfriend was just asking me about why the guy in the picture looked different than the rest of the military. I told her that the Air Force is as close as you can get to being a civilian while still being in the military. That being said, they do have one hell of a chow hall and NCO club.
