Posting for my brother. He's got an 03 9s. He was cruising today and it all of a sudden died. He said it died the his guages got stuck topped out and now it won't turn over. Said the battery checked out OK. Could it be the stator or a regulator? Any ideas?

Mine did the same thing couple months ago..turned out to be the ingnition fuse. Check the fuses first

when my voltage regulator went out while riding, it started loosing power like a car would with a dying alternator, it started bucking and surging before it finally died.

you can test the VR if you have a meter, do you have a manual for your bike?...

If the batt checked out, meaning it was not dead, its not the VR.... It would have run off the batt untill the batt died.... Dont ask how i know this
