I know you were just mocking the gixerboys. I was just very disappointed to find "made in china" on my "American Motorcycle"[mad]

I've always liked suzukis, but that's because I love 750s and they're the only ones who can make a decent one(plus I like the drzsm more than the wrx). If honda would make a 750rr already I wouldn't give it a second thought. As far as unfriendly street motors go, that early 600rr motor was known for being nothing but top end, which is the only reason I'd be hesitant to pick one of them up.

Yea for some reason the 750 is a missing class, there used to be more on the market, I know I would buy a 750 if Kawasaki started making them again, or maybe a Honda VFR800.

and I don't mean that Suzukis are bad bikes by any means, they are very innovative, they started doing the hollow 3 spoke wheels early (Kawasaki just did it for the new ZX-10 stating weight loss as a reason) on were probably the first to offer different throttle maps selectable on the fly.
I just don't think they are as quality as the hype would have you think, the fit and finish isn't as nice as say, a Honda.

and that's for sport bikes, I don't know anything about current dirt bikes.

They all made one, but when suzuki made the srad in 96, it was so good that the other 3 just completely gave up on the idea. Their 750 was putting out the same numbers that most current 1000s were making, so no one bothered trying to catch up. There's no real use for them in racing anymore, but Suzuki keeps them around because they sell so many, plus they share about 97% of their parts with the 600 and 1000, so it doesn't cost much more to make them.

With as light as 1000cc bikes are now, I feel like honda and Kawasaki would easily take their liter bikes, sleeve/stroke down the motor to 750cc, tune it for good midrange, and put some new stickers on it and have a whole new bike. I assume they just figure there's no reason to bother.

Yes, wiiiegoat it is. Since most of us know little about them other than a few specs we find on the internet and have never ridden one Spiders are fair game. Its ok to bash something we know little to nothing about is'nt it? Not only that but they're unique and different and we don't like that do we?---- Good Point willie.

I find that hard to believe that a company would just give up and hand over market share to another company.

It's the truth! Kawasaki hung around for a while, but as gorgeous as the zx7r was, it was kind of a pig. the 750 didn't have a dedicated racing class so I think they just assumed it wasn't worth it. They never would've caught up with minor adjustments to their current bikes. They would've had to start from scratch and come up with an entire new bike, and I don't think they felt up to it.

It's said that the companies make racebikes frist, tone them down ,and they they become street bikes for production. When they did away with the 750cc class in almost all racing organizations, the 750cc bike was pretty much over with.People still club race them, but in an "open class" where you are up against bikes from 250cc - 1000cc.Just my 2cents.;)

Like i've said before , it seems everytime i'm on my Buells everyone , including Harley riders look back at them . It's cool as hell to stand out so much . It's really cool when the jap crotch rocket guys follow me into parking lots and inquire about my bikes . It's good to be different !
