What is it with Jap bike owners???

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

for what they like to use thier bikes for they are correct. the guy third to the bottom actually stands up for the buell and describes what their all about.

I lol'd at this (talking about the VROD development):

Havn't these people ever heard of Drafting? CAD? Industrial Reconnisance? The only reason harley still exists is because the flavor of the decade is patriotism. The bikes suck.

Because it is more important to harley to make bikes with no radiator and ineffecient exhaust silencers than it is to make bikes that handle and go fast. They basicly said on some TLC special that thats what their demographic is into anyway.

All style and no substance.

I'd be offended if Harley tried to attach itself to my national image.

i got a buddy with a gxxr and when we pull into parking lots i go into 1st and just rumble around and he hates it cause hes always clutching and trying to move

The entire bike scene has changed, I am an old man I'm 56 I started riding when I was 16 and have been every since~! I can still remeber when harley meant something, not the bagger cookie cutter market it has become today~! The bulk of the guys I meet today have no knowledge of building or even what a damn chopper is~! I still own and ride a 1928 a 1931 101 scout made by Indian, REAL made in the USA machines~! I also still ride a old 1955 FLH chopper that I built 30+ years ago, you just do not see choppers on the road anymore, I have a 2009 softail with a shovel and a 1999 DEBAGGED FLHT. I have heard it all over the years "my bike is bigger, badder, looks better, what ever~! I needed a coil for my 2003 Road King went to the dealer and bought a factory replacement, walking out the door I noticed it said of all things~! "MADE IN CHINA" I could not believe it~! I took it back to the parts guy laid it on the counter and said "I wanted a factory coil~!" He said, "It is factory" I said no way it's chinese he looked at me like I was crazy~! He then said most of my electrical system was chinese~! I said thank you and left, I came home made one phone ad sold that bike~! I replaced it with a 2009 Yamaha Raider~! NOW~! If I had to rate them all in all honesty I would have to give it to Yamaha~! I have argued up and down with my "bros" it's pointless~! To each their own is what I say now~! I have owned ULs flats, knucks, pans, shovels, and a TC, I ride my yamadog now~! The harleys pretty much sit as do my Indians. And sorry no they are not for sale~! AND MY NEW PROJECT IS, I am putting an 05 Buell lightning into a old 50s servicar, I cant wait to hear what kind of idiot I am for doing this conversion~!!!!! I will post pics for you Buell guys after the body comes back from paint (Aztec Pearl Gold) Who knows? maybe you folks will even enjoy looking at it? :)
Evil
BTW anyone who can help me with a question would be appreciated~! This motor came with no primary cover I have no idea what years will work? and I have heard a sportster primary will fit? I have no clue~! If you do please post me.

50's service car, YES!!

I don't know why, always been a sport bike, drit bike and quad type, but the old 50's era bikes have really grown on me and in particular I want a 50's era service car! I'm getting old I suppose.

Don't sweat the jap bike riders with bad attitudes. I know I don't!

I LOVE my Buell. I love the way it sounds, the way it handles, and the awesome low-end grunt. I didn't buy it to compare specs with all the other douche nozzle kids in the local wawa parking lot. I bought it because it puts a huge smile on my face whenever I ride. I don't need the approval of some 20-something squid or a magazine editor to know I made the right choice.

In my travels I've generally found the cruiser/H-D rider crowd a lot friendlier, and accepting of my Buell. I do make a point to rib H-D riders who "don't know what a Buell is" though (almost always RUB hawaiian shirt guys)

Random Buell cool moment: I'm blasting down a road, I see a guy on a new Duc Monster S sitting at the light, as I cross the intersection with the green. We both give each other the pez nod. A couple miles later, I'm at a stoplight and he pulls up behind me, flips up his shield and yells "your Buell sounds frickin' AWESOME! Nice bike, man!" I told him the same, that I've always liked Ducs, etc. and then we went our separate ways. It made me smile to have a Ducati guy admire my bike!

Yeah, let em YAK. Walk the Walk,Talk the Talk. Bikes are Bikes in some sort of way. Buells are in a class all by themselves. Been Hoppin them up for 25 yrs. Just recently had a guy w/a 09, cbr 600 push on me going to Daytona, so I guess after 177mph (stupid by the way) we pulled into rossmeyer & he was suprised to see a Buell go like that. OK i shoulda told him what all I had in her but Naaaah why spoil it.Told him thought maybe he shouldn't judge a Buell By the cover. Erik made these bikes pretty tough. Smooth is Fast. OH BTW, I have a CBR 1000RR as well stock, & Shes a friggin monster. Shame on me breakin the law like that. I better save it for the track.
