im loving it i had the chance to rock it twice used it for a little over 150 miles, no more neck pains no lift and the ventilation is awesome, im looking into some speakers for it and i also want to get the tint adjust shield. like i said in the earlier post it was a huge step up from my icon. i also managed to get it for cost :) i work in the bicycle industry and we stock bell bike helmets so after making a few calls and pulling a few strings i finally got the helmet that i have been wanting for awhile!

So what is "Cost" on a $650 helmet? I know I snagged mine for $200 and retail is $600.

Also you may want to check into these as far as speakers. My fiance bought them for me for Xmas, install perfect in the Star, and they even have an optional mini amplifier if you want crazy loud. They mount inside the lining with a velcro "O" to allow easy removal if you want to clean the helmet.

i got mine for 300 shipped to my shop. thanks for showing me those speakers how is the sound quality on them?

how do you like those speakers?
I had to rebuild the connector on mine after a few weeks, but they sound awesome.

can you hook any of us up with that deal?
I would love that lid.

i wish i could, it was hard enough for me to get one because supposedly bell bicycle helmets and bell motorcycle helmets are two totally different company's?? any way i had a guy i was friendly with who works for bell bicycle helmets order as if it was for him and then he shipped it to my shop. he wasn't happy about doing it and said this would be the first and last time he would hook me up with this offer.. sorry

I'm really digging that Icon Variant Helmet (the MX stylish one) does anybody know any other brands that make similar style helmets (that arent actual MX helmets?

I have a Givi Xplus Comfort in matte black. It is modular and has a double visor, so it had all the features I wanted.

The speakers sound great, not a huge amount of bass, but the sound is loud and clear for sure

be careful with the conector on them, mine came as part of the GP3X2 kit and the whole think only lasted about a month before all the connectors went bad, but until then it was the best setup ever.

@ MuSh How the wind noise on the 'comfort'?

I have the X.01 and its sort of loud. Still an awesome helmet, but I read that the comfort is quieter and think I may get it in the silver.

i have the buell helmet,it sucks. i will always keep it because it goes with my bike but it fogs, has lots of noise, the wind goes through the visor when i crack it open into my eyes so it looks like i cry when i ride. i always had hjc helmets but never cared for them, they did not have the wind problem but were unstable at high speeds and fogged up bad.
i want to buy a new helmet and have been looking, but i am afraid to spend more money on a helmet that i might not like when i use it. i almoast bought a rkt 101 last week it felt better than the $4-500. helmets but its one thing to like it in the store but how do you know it will be good on the road? i think that places that sell helmets should have a test helmet in every brand so you can try it out. the othe thing i learned is not to buy a helmet just because someone else likes it,you might hat the helmet that is someone elses favorite, same goes for looks.
i guess that why harley guys go with 1/2 buckets cant go wrong there..they all suck at everything.
does any helmet store have a return or exchange if you do not like it? even the matress stores do that!

Can't see anyone touching that idea because of major liability risks.

Best bet is what others have recommended. Go to the store, put it on and walk around looking at other stuff. It won't take long to figure out the comfort of it.

it not just the comfort it how it does in the wind that important to me. i might try cycle gear but will have to wait until i dont have 5' of snow on the ground.

they should have a wind tunnel in the store so you can feel and hear what it would be like on the road. then they would really have one up on the online stores
