@PABueller, take a look at this.... the Joe Rocket Carbon IS the HJC FS-15 Carbon helmet. Competition Accessories has it for $233..

HJC FS-15 Carbon

I have the Bell Apex - Ripper Red. nice helmet, fits well, some noise issues. if it's not square you can hardle hear the bike. the kevlar does make it light and has good ventilation no real fogging issues even on colder days.
i would get another one maybe the reactor color.

anyone have some good feedback on helmets with low wind noise?

What's wrong with the X30?

I have the Nexx X30 and am happy with it. It's one of those cool looking European Helmets nobody seems to be able to get stateside... until now.

My biggest issue with it happens when stopped or at low speed. The visor is permanently attached to the front fairing, so if you need to defog or get some fresh air, you'll need to crack open or rotate the front of the helmet. I love the rest of it. How about ZERO windnoise at highway speeds (slight with the nose vent open), again, thanks to the permanent faceshield. I am able to hear the engine, tranny, road and cars around me. The built in shades completely cammouflages my face from the outside world. A quick locking strap can be donned with gloves on... it's that simple.

I have the Orange/Black one and it draws lots of looks... maybe they think I'm the Orange Power Ranger?

Anyways, I purchased a second one, plain flat black in size XL and it still sits in the box, still in the protective bag with the tags attached. I haven't worn it since my original intention was to have it sprayed to match the markings of the F117 Stealth Fighter, only to learn that the surface of the helmet won't allow paint to stick or harden enough to keep it from cracking. The project went dead on arrival.

Wow, what a difference from the Suzuki forums...where the helmet threads all read Arai, Shoei, Suomy....over and over. Nice to see so many different choices on here.

Trill- +1 on that Variant! If I hadn't just got a new Scorpion, that would be on my list! Bad ass design!

I really like my Shoei RF-1100.

Lightweight. Only real issue I have is that it tends to fog.

I have crash tested this model a few times while in AFM,against my will, got up every time with no injuries to my head, wife will say otherwise.[smirk]

Crash tested the KBC TK-8: faceshield popped off, glasses went out and got run over. Nasty gouge on side of helmet. However, I did walk away, well, limp away with a broken collarbone, etc. It was a noisy helmet but I liked the chin/beard room, also good with glasses.

Crash tested the Joe Rocket Atomic: scratches and broken plastic bits, couple of bruises on forehead, broke a rib. Joe Rocket customer service is Aces, called me, talked it over and said they'd replace the helmet. Not so much chin room and harder to fit glasses too.

If I had to buy I'd go for the Bell Vortex. I've tried it on in the store and it's pretty tight, glasses barely fit. Price is good.

Bell star carbon(helmet is amazing will never buy anything else) have an icon also but will never ever buy another, noisy and crazy amounts of lift. I have this 80 dollar hawk helmet also and IMO that helmet is even better then the icon.

rndrkeagle,

I have an Icon Alliance sitting in a closet because the visor got too loose with age and it flops open when I check my blind spot.

I've been wearing a Sparx S-07 for a year now and I'm highly impressed with the quality for the price.
I especially love the vents built into the visor itself.
They're great for clearing up a fogged visor in the early morning or in the rain.

No, the Joe Rocket Helmets are not the same as HJC. The HJC is actually a nicer helmet, better fitting, more ventilation, nicer interior.
