you want turbo powa!! if not a wrx, look into an audi b5 s4. or non turbo v8 b6 s4. both awd and kick arse in the snow! its a little bit more than a wrx, but the creature comforts are a lot better, i.e. heated seats, mirror defoggers, headlight washers just to name a few.

Oh how I miss the interior on my Audi...And that Bose audio system kicked ass!

I don't miss the repair cost's of my Audi though ;)

Drove the mustang today for the first time in the snow. About 2" of fresh powder on the road and she didnt skip a beat. Granted I took it easy, but it can be done.

Just the pirelli 245/45/19 all seasons that are stock on the car. I was going to get snow tires, but after how well it did that is $1500 I can spend elsewhere.

first snow of the season today pulled 7 cars out of ditches 2 were mustangs 1 charger 1 jeep 1 camery a chevy luv and a z71:D

The Subaru is a better all round car. The new Mustang is super sweet, but it's a muscle car. That's it. You've driven a RWD car in the snow before, right? It's horrible. The Subaru (speaking of personal experience) is a more comfortable, more reliable, and more practice vehicle. I love the STi personally, and I would get that car over just about any other car. You can take them anywhere, since they are rally cars, and they are very very dependable. Plus they hold their retail very well. And as much as I love the 5.0, I think the Subaru is a much better sports car, while the Mustang is a great Muscle cat.
Either way, it's gonna be a lot of fun. But if you get the stang, don't punk out and get the automatic.

I have the 2005.5 Audi A4 2.0T and I won't be the last to say that it is a sweet ride. Especially if you know someone that works on them haha. All heated leather seats, all wheel drive, quick as hell too. I LOVE it!

i use to ride my bored yz80 in the first snow... so that not saying much try driving mid feb when you have snow on a layer of ice. that rwd car aint going no where. and if it does it will be sideways into a curb to bust the axle.. i have seen 2 mustangs and a few camaros in my dads shop during the winter for that. it cost a pretty penny

I test drove a wrx premium. It was smooth when driving normal and had a Nice kick when the tubo spooled up. Haven't gotten around to the stang yet because I will be driving my current vehicle this winter. I'll drive the 5.0 in spring. Leaning towards the Rex.

i still think your crazy for not looking for at the sti!

I will look at it. I just don't really want to pay 10 grand more when I can get the normal wrx that is almost just as fast, and with about 3 grand into it will be just as fast or possibly faster than the STi.

I like 0-60. WRX only needs one shift to get there. STi needs 2. I will get better useage out of the normal wrx.

It's kinda like having a Buell as compared to a Jap 600c-1000cc bike, get more practical use from the Buell. Just my opinion.

I don't plan on racing or anything, just messing with people on the streets a little.

i had a wrx so i hear ya... but the tranny is made better in the sti heaver clutch and lots more so all in all you get what you pay for. the brembo 17" rotor setup on the sti will cost you 4k+ to put on a wrx.. and you get the road condition setting in the sti for tarmac snow and dirt and that works sweet!

im not trying to tell ya what one is better for ya;) just trying to say once you have a wrx youll wish you got the sti
