Cool man! You may consider baking your pipe if you can find an oven to do so. That paint may dull up after it cures?

I will see how it goes, I don't know anyone that has a Gloss ceramic so I may wait and look around once the season is done.

This is a shot of the inside of the tip, should help lower the noise just a bit.

Holly **** dude, you still have a VCR?

:D

But seriously, thats going to be tough when its all done. Good job.

He got it himself, I just told him what I wanted, oh and it is Stainless Steel[up]

Just had to pay the difference from what a regular pipe cost, to get a custom build. If anyone wants something other than what he has on his site, all you need to do is ask. You can see 50dro also had a single tip welded up as well.

Besides a pipe and a ZTL2, are you doing any performance mods? Ohlins suspension? A real tune(not ebr)? Chain conversion with chain swing arm? Rake change?

Just simple stuff, Plugs, air box mod, and breather reroute. I looked into suspension but I am not sure if it would work on the back of my bike with the clearance to the battery tray. I was just a few clicks away from buying a custom set of triple trees to adjust for the front angle change you are talking about but the guy wanted to much, IMO. I also looked into the trail kit from Free-Spirits, but you need a specialty tool and they wont send it to the states, and I can bring myself to spend $100 on a tool I will use one time.

I am just upgrading to newer parts basically. The bike wont be seeing the track so I am not to worried about the go fast parts. I just want something I can be proud of and ride I have thought about buy a crashed XB to use my extra frame on like we had talked but I just don't have the garage space, plus it would be one more major item I would have to move at the end of next year when I move south.

Not riding more than 2k last year makes me want to just settle for what I have in the garage and just put the bike together. The only reason I don't is I can't bare to half ass it. I know doing engine mods, susp, and tune it for all that would be ideal, but I am trying to stick with stock and make it custom (if that makes sense, sort of like the Ss swing arm setup). Not to mention my pockets do have a bottom and I am nearing them right now.

Whyyyyyy?

Because I have different taste than you [up]

Plus it has a different effect when under the bike thus sitting on the ground.

50dro's, which is a 1/2" smaller

I'm not talking about why you chose the single ridiculously massive outlet. I'm saying why would you go for that when you dropped a ton of money on the rest of the bike? Your tastes are your tastes, I'm not trying to step on that. Just seems half-ass is all.

And I'm glad you feel that way about the 990R. Leaves more for me. Either way, even if you did like it, I don't think you could touch the ground if you threw a leg over it. It's a big boys only bike.

Octo has a good point. You should have a sweet Keda pipe or something. That Hawk pipe looks terrible.

For sure, I stand 5'10" and just flat foot on the S/R susp., plus I have other toys for the dirt.

Randy has been good to the forum, I am returning it. He does everyone right.

Plus like mentioned I do have a bottom to my pocket and Keda wants a ton of money for his pipe. Is it worth it, sure, but I didn't feel like dropping the better half of a grand on my pipe.

He made one for an XB, but said he wasnt sure if he wanted to make them. I am sure he would be willing to make another for the right price, but at his cost it isnt even a thought for me. I would have gone with a QD Race exhaust instead, but again I dont have that deep of pockets.

I will have a total cost in the end and I am sure everyone will wonder how in the hell I managed to make it all work for what I have into it.

Haha just found this while I was looking for mountain bike stuff, I would pimp this Octo.

What wouldn't be half ass? Keep in mind I dont feel like paying for what even a race pipe would cost. Drummers are Junk, IMO, BuellChick had one on her bike when I got it and I wouldn't touch another.

Also must for me would be to maintain the chin fairing. I guess the biggest thing is what I like, heck even if someone gave me a Micron I wouldn't run it I would just sell it. But in the end the muffler is probably the easiest part to swap out, so if the Hawk gets old or I decide it isn't what I want I will just get something different.

I don't think you understand the importance of tuning. Getting a pipe is a commitment. You need to find something you like, tune it right and leave it until you can tune it with your next pipe. You're putting all that effort and money into your bike, but you're putting the cheapest pipe on? Regardless of how good Hawk has been to people on the forum, his $200 pipes are $200 pipes. Also, I think it's funny how when I say these things about hawk pipes, I loose a ton of rep points. God forbid some one has a different opinion.
