Is it just me or do the welds look better on 50dros pipe??

It's hard to see on the pic of X's pipe. It's probably a cell pic and it looks like the paint may have still been wet? I did put the grinder to some of my welds before repainting it. Randy had some problems with mine because the doner pipe was pretty rusty. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it though.

Give X some time with it...I'm sure he won't put anything that looks sub-par on his bike. As Jobe said, it may take some cleaning up to look better. I'm alot happier with mine after refinishing it. [up]

The weld just seems to look terrible and the surface doesn't look smooth at all. Was your pipe is that condition coming back? Dro must be that good paint that got a perfect finish

The only pipe that could release me from my race pipe is a front exit. I will wait to see what Baja does next.

good on you for being patient enough to gather all the parts before starting the build or even just adding parts onto a complete bike, the patience required to do such a thing must be miserable. In the end the bike is gonna be awesome, the powder coating looks great. looking forward to the progression

i think that pipe looks terrible too, its not just the dirty looking tip, its the quality of the welds. that bike is going to look so trick when its done, it really does deserve a higher quality looking exhaust IMHO.

Colors look awsome.......I say run what ya got...its your bike. Plus like you mentioned if ya dont like it you will change it out. Sure it may reqire some tuneing, but hey thats just more time with your bike

You need to find something you like, tune it right and leave it until you can tune it with your next pipe. You're putting all that effort and money into your bike, but you're putting the cheapest pipe on?  Regardless of how good Hawk has been to people on the forum, his $200 pipes are $200 pipes.

The cheapest pipe may be, well a Jardine is cheaper, but as you stated it is almost all in the tune, little one at ya, I dont have a Race ECM

ECMSpy cable is around here somewhere......... I have a local guy who can dyno tune, but i have to have a ridable bike for that, or atleast tires on the rims. The bike won't be half assed I can assure you of that Dave.

People would pick apart something no matter what I did. I have just accepted that. I knew when I started this thread guys would bash here and there but when the bike is done it will have the final words

Plus the bashing isn't even really bashing it is knowledge and or opinions. I take them in and step back to make sure I am doing what I want along with what is right. I know I sure as hell wouldn't be able to build this bike if I hadn't been a member on here and aquired the knowledge I have through the site.

Keep the thoughts and info coming unless it is a simple bash on me [smirk]

I wasn't trying to talk **** on the Hawk product, just on the fact that what Dave said is true: it's a $200 exhaust. It just seems like after dropping all this money on the bike, you'd get something that looks a little cleaner and a little more custom. At least to stay on target with keppi's beautiful builds.

He painted the car with the blue paint they would use on the American flag when painting the birds. I know he is gonna drool. He had a 03 xb in hs and that is actually the reason i got my xb

it is military inspired... When has military equipment ever been clean or custom? maybe when it is new, but Every piece of equipment I ever got to play with in the military was simply put...functional. nothing was pretty, but damn it, it worked! I for one love where Extreme is going with this! Good work man!

I like hawk pipe's. Expensive pipe's are cool to. $$$ isnt everything. Not trying to be a kiss ass. Never have never will. I just appreciate good work. COlor scheme looks killer.

i dont think its bashing at all either, theres not much to bash the bike is going to be killer, in fact it already is. we all jus have our opinions on certain things which is expected as you said. hope i didnt offend you or anything~ never really liked hawk mufflers just because the welding has always been sub par...whether on a green/blk bike, hero blue or cherry bomb. cant wait to see if together tho, kinda anxious actually lol

I know how to tune the Bike, but I do admit it is far from what I know you can do. I understand the maps but I do become lost in them and when it comes to mapping it intimidates the piss out of me. RT Performance knows his way around ECMspy ware better so than I and lives close so I am going to meet up with him to make sure I have it all down pat.

I already have a tune in the ECM but had all my data on my last Laptop which fried on me so I lost all the original data and my ECMspy Software, but found my disk just today and reloaded it back onto my new laptop. I know I need to burn a copy so I dont lose what I have but that was learned through the last time. [smirk]
