Pictures or opinion Frank Parsts air scoops XB12Ss

I definitely like the look, but being a "function over form" kind of guy I have to wonder how well they work. I don't want to give up my comfort package here in AZ just to look cooler.

    Will H4 LED bulbs work?

Well, the H4 is a 3 prong connector because it's a dual filament bulb. The Buells use an independent hi-beam so the bulbs are single filament, and use a 2 prong connector. That being said, it will probably work provided the plug will fit... Or you take the leads out and don't use the plug at all.

Amsoil , What is the next best iol ?

I'm surprised to see RoyalPurple isn't #2. That's all I pretty much ever used in my bikes after working for some gear head machinists that got me turned on to it.

    Replacing shift lever

You can't swap the old bushings over? Could always use some BLUE loctite to hold the bolt from vibrating loose once it's at the tension you prefer.

    Torque limiting drain plug

Why stop there? Put a cheater on that! Steel fence post or something! Believe it or not, I've done that. Trying to replace leaf springs on a Cherokee. Impact wasn't doing crap (cheap impact), and before we went in with a cutoff wheel we tried a 6 foot breaker bar. Amazingly, we didn't break...

    Torque limiting drain plug

Damn, O-ring seals are so EASY. They don't need to be cranked down. Not even close. You can feel them compress and when the plug wants to stop... I sort of understand it on normal crush-gaskets, people just don't trust them sometimes. But stripping out an O-ring plug? Tsk tsk.

Winter Storage, Battery in or out?

I've actually never stored a battery on a tender, nor taken the battery out, but I HAVE stored my bike in temperature controlled environments and disconnected the negative. Always fired right up come spring. If you can't bring the while bike inside where it's warm, just bringing the battery...

    Spare Key

How does this even happen? It's not like 6 year old posts are on page 3, you gotta go "Indiana Jones-ing" through the archive to get to posts that old. And it's not like a project or problem thread was resurrected, which is more or less ok for questions and to piggyback, it's an answered...

    Fitment other clutch assembly (levers)

Might just be my bars since they're a little lower than factory, but if I ran upside down mirrors they would DEFINITELY hit the frame when turning the bars. Except for maybe those upside down bar end ones on that German website. I apparently have Aprilia mirrors on my lightning, they were...

    Fitment other clutch assembly (levers)

What about something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Motorcycle-Aluminum-Handlebar-Mirror/dp/B00AA7OFLI Personally I never understood the whole mirrors under the bars thing. To me it looks weird and seems like it would be hard to use. On a cruiser with ape-hangers maybe, but not...

    New Member!!! Introductions and aspirations

I can't really say whether or not the SCG is too short, but I did find some factory specs for both bikes in regards to seat height. SS: Seat Height, Laden3 30.6 in. (777 mm) Seat Height, Unladen 33.2 in. (843 mm) SCG: Seat Height, Laden3 28.6 in. (726 mm) Seat Height, Unladen 29.9 in. (759 mm)...

Didn't seem very fair of me to vote for myself, luckily there were plenty of awesome pictures to choose from! Good luck to everyone who submitted!

    New bars = new bike

I always end up grinding those locater pins off instead of drilling the bars. Partially because I don't want to screw up the hole position, partially because I want to be able to return the bars in case I end up not liking them or something. Never had issues with the controls spinning on me...

    Complete oil change?

Even if the primary oil has half the interval as the crankcase/swing-arm, it's one quart exactly. For just $10 might as well change it every time. Takes not but an extra minute.

    Rear brake sensor?

Thanks for the replies. I might not be able to get to this right away but I'll be sure to update. I'll definitely try cleaning it first.

    Rear brake sensor?

Is there a way to adjust the sensor for the brake pedal? The pedal is adjusted to a comfortable position and the braking response feels good, but I have to push pretty hard to get the light to come on. It looks like the sensor is built into the master cylinder, I'm used to there being a...
