    MacGyver fork spring compressor

I needed to replace the seals in my 2008 XB12ss forks at the weekend and thought I thought I had everything I needed till I got to the part that needed a spring compressor....... I moved house a few months back and can not for the life of me find my spring compressor...... I am now thinking I...

What is the best way to turn off the seat heater?

Thanks, Cooter :eagerness: I fitted the belly pan at the weekend. Just for grins here what lives under my airbox cover.

What is the best way to turn off the seat heater?

Yeah it's a bit strange at first but if you hold your legs tight to the frame it lessens the effect if it gets a bit too cool. Really glad you are able to ride for longer now, it makes such a difference to a ride when you are comfortable. :)

What is the best way to turn off the seat heater?

Here are some pics of the seat cover on my 2008 XB12ss long. The seat cover is a mesh that allows air to pass through and allows the cooling effect to happen by not allowing you in direct contact with the seat.

What is the best way to turn off the seat heater?

Totally know what you're saying here as my seat heats up and after a while, once the heat has soaked into the seat it's really not a fun place to be. I have been getting the https://airflowseatcovers.com/ adverts on my facebook feed so I thought id try them but they said they don't have a cover...

    Catch Can V2.0

Just on a design point, a great effort, but here are some points to consider for a MK2 version ;-) How much pressure is the "catch can" going to see? Everybody loves billet but it looks like it could be bomb proof when really a simpler design could be employed. You could remove those two seals...

oil change reveals unknown debris/bits/particles in filter, what could they be?

Thanks guys, I will change my filter in 1k and see if there are any more. A problem shared is definitely a problem halved ;-)

oil change reveals unknown debris/bits/particles in filter, what could they be?

Thanks Loose1 lets hope so! No Silverrider no work on the engine for a long time other than spark plugs, filters and oils. I have never removed any of the engine casings only the filler for the trans oil.

oil change reveals unknown debris/bits/particles in filter, what could they be?

So today I changed the oil and filter on my 2008 xb12ss and I found some strange debris in the oil filter. The particles had a silicone rubber seal quality but I don't know what they could be from and I am worried if this is a warning sign of a potential problem about to happen! I opened the oil...

Buell XB high performance front isolator

Stiffening the mount is exactly what Tpehak's project will do. The original mount has the central core bonded to the rubber vibration isolation compound in only a few places. This creates a certain amount of free space to allow the central core to float in lateral and axial directions to...

Buell XB high performance front isolator

Just a quick thought on this front isolator problem.... Has anybody filled their mount with Polyurathane sealant? The mount has very similar gaps to the rubber mounts unsed on my Audi S4 rear diff and a favorite way to help stiffen these up was to fill the gaps with this stuff...

Buell XB high performance front isolator

Great idea but as people have already said the machining is gonna kill ya. I ran your step file through the instant online cnc machining website xometry.com. Just the front engine mount alone came out to $563.19 for one off. To get the machining price for that one part down to below $150 you...

    work space upgrade...

Looks a great idea to me! My 2 cents would be the addition of some sort of fly screen, may be a roller blind style but mounted up side down. The main roller mechanism could mount to the top of the lowest panel and the retractable screen could be attached to the bottom of which ever panel you...

    Lightning long

I am not sure if its year dependent but I thought the Uly seat fits over the rails of the tail section and not on top like the Lightning. I think you might need a Uly tail section?

    Lightning long

I run the urban assault seat on my SS and love it compared to the original seat. I am 6'3" so it makes riding much more comfortable but I could still do with a gel pad or some thing in the seat just to ease my bony ass on long rides. I looked for a touring seat a while ago part number 51916-06Y...

ear plugs / ear phones, what type do you use?......if any?

Some great options there chaps thanks for the feed back  I think I start by picking up some HF plugs to see if they make a difference for me and then if they work try out some getto style head phones like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abkuIBdRuEU or this...

ear plugs / ear phones, what type do you use?......if any?

I went for a ride the the other day and was surprised how my hearing was effected by the long period of wind noise. So I thought I would look in to ear plugs but then I started looking at custom molded earphones as well. The ones I have found are these Bluetooth ones so I can hear my sat nav...
