    I took off my 06 lightning ss headlights and saw that in the middle in the back there was a open hole and I found a grey plug that fits the hOle, so I tested it and see that it loses power when the high beam is activated. Anyone know what was in there from the factory? Thanks

    Yeah I've already done that mod, but now I'm thinking of running a wire from the high beam to the low beam and using the low beam for the halos, so it'll be putting a load on the high beam's wire. Guess I'll just try it.

    I had the nearly the same problem with my 06 ss. I had to tap down on the the shifter first to upshift and sometimes it wouldn't go past 3rd gear at all for awhile. It sucked really bad going down the freeway stuck in 3rd at about 5500 rpms, or maybe it was second gear. Anyway it always did it...

    Yea I wonder about the reliability of the engine and trans at those levels to. Maybe that's why HD decided to scrap it. They were probably afraid of having problems and didn't want to take losses on warranty work of a highly stressed machine.

    I've put about 200 miles on it since the oil change and I found that the shifter wasn't moving very freely it was getting stuck going up and down so I put a small lock washer on the case side of the shifter bolt and now it pivits only on the bushing so it doesn't rub.     Damn I want a hole in my frame so I could do that. Of course a turbo would be better. Would have been a completely different monster and probably would have sold 10x more if they came with the turbo and 150 whp & 120 ft lbs of torque.

    Good info Jimi thanks. Mine is a 06 XB12ss. The fan has always come on when I parked it even after a short 30 min ride so it surprised me when it didn't this time after riding about 45 mins. I just changed the plugs with NGK's and did the full synthetic oil so I guess those are keeping it cooler...

    I was just searching for fan info because I just came home from a short a ride and the fan didn't come on when I turned it off. Thought it was weird but I did just switch to Lucas full synthetic v twin oil so maybe that's why it didn't come on. Guess its ok since others mentioned that.

    I'm dumb, dropped my bike today

    Mine fell over while idling in my driveway yesterday morning. Broke the same stuff plus bent my shifter. I was pissed and when I went to pick it up I honked the horn a few times. I'm sure my neighbors liked that at 4 am.
