geez... only 245 bucks. here if i was caught doing 30 or more over, then its a 600 odd fine and 3 months suspension of license. 45 over and its 1585 dollar fine and 6months suspension on the spot. as well it can mean a visit to court.

luckily enough my last two were over 30 but hte officers wrote them for over 20 so 300 bucks and still a third of my available points gone.

Highly unlikely that your speedo was so far off that you were going 35 over... I doubt that they will dismiss it...but the best of luck to you for trying.

that is fairly inexpensive. I got a ticket for $210 for doing 46 in a 30...

I am just wondering it those $700.00 detectors work for this situation or not. I had one of those day's. I just found out my First Carpenter foreman's (mentor) Cancer was not cured from his radiation therapy. He is an old friend and also one of my mentors. I just had to go fast. It happens. I will probably get out of the speeding ticket. I have my way's F.Y.I. it does not involve knee pads. I will bring the pictures of the speedo replacement as evidence. Once they see you have made an effort they usually drop to defective speedo or dismiss all together here in Franklin Wisconsin.

My thoughts about speeding- if you did the crime, man up and do the time. In other words, don't break the law (I know I sound old, maturity is also a bitc* ).

And a motorcycle is no place to be blowing off steam. I'm glad you got pulled over and given a ticket before you hurt yourself or someone else.

i am confused how it is you think that 'changing the speed guage' will get you out of a fine. as the judge i would simply ask how you determined if the original was faulty and where the results were for that test?

I am just going to take picture's of the work. Display receipts,pics, dress nice, be polite and courteous. In Franklin they appreciate people that simply show up to court dates. 9 times out of 10 they have sympathy for you and if the points will make you lose your license they will amended to a defective speedo. The key words are to be polite, and courteous. It actually goes a long way in the criminal justice system. I have got out of tickets before. 10 to be exact O.W.I.'s are nearly impossible to get out of tho. Don't drink and drive!

Shifter lever or shifter peg? Hand levers are chopped stock and polished. The shifter peg is a chopped stock with a hole drilled in and a Kuryakyn peg. The kick plates. (I assume you mean heal guards) are just stock sanded down and polished. Hand grips are from china on E-Bay. I will try to find the link. I am at a loss ATM.???

What if you had purchased a new dash in Km insted of Mph. then you could have clamed that you bought the bike used and had no Idea it was in metric insted of standard. since then you have purchased the correct dash plate and replaced it. $25-$35 would have been worth a shot.

freak 2180.. i think the problem with that is that a kilometer is less than a mile... so if he was going 90 kph... he woulda really been going 120 ish (thats a guess.. it worked to his disadvantage... yes. definately. 1 mile = 1.6 kilmeters.. damnit dude, its just like there money! everything they got is 1.6 of ours! damn europeans! at least they dont win in the crotch area america! ok, sorry, that was awkward..[smirk]
